Re: Good line or plain stupid?

I'm more afraid to lose him on the flop when I will probably push no matter what the flop comes. For example he won't be able to call a pot sized flop bet with QQ on a K high flop.

I also can put...

Good line or plain stupid?

I played some 6-max $50 NL at Party yesterday. My stack was slightly over $50 when the following hand occured:

I pick up A /images/graemlins/spade.gifA /images/graemlins/diamond.gif UTG and raise...

Could you please elaborate, bro?

Re: KK in trouble (NL25)

Push. I think you will see a T or JJ-QQ here most of the time, and occasionally a PP <= 88. Maybe even a flush draw, but then he probably would have pushed or called. If he has a 9, so be it.

Btw,...

Re: I put myself in a difficult situation

I hear you. Still I can't agree with you to the full extent. It's obvious he put me on a steal, why on earth would he otherwise reraise with A6o OOP? So I can't be all wrong with the justification of...

My entire time bank almost expired before I made the call. I was very, very close to folding several times since I couldn't really se enough hands that I was ahead of. Somehow I changed my mind,...

Re: I put myself in a difficult situation

I see people reraising a "blind stealer" from the BB with weak hands a lot, even worse hands than the ones mentioned. But as you said, maybe I would need some proof that he's capable of this kind of...

Re: QJo hand that seems badly played

I like the preflop raise at a 6-handed table.

On the flop I can see a case for folding to the checkraise but as you describe him as laggy it might as well be a weak hand or a bluff, so I would...

Re: I put myself in a difficult situation

Saving myself money would be nice! :-)

I think your guideline is correct most of the time but I would like to add some hands like AQ/AJ and maybe even AT/KQ/KJ since he may very well put me on a...

Re: I put myself in a difficult situation

He didn't have position in this hand. And no, I had no accurate reads on his game, except for the the LAG label I had on him.

Re: I put myself in a difficult situation

You're right I'm behind most reasonable hands, with reasonable being the keyword. The thing is I think he might have interpreted me as weak from the way I played the hand.

If he saw my preflop...

I put myself in a difficult situation

Party 6-max 50 NL.

Didn't have many hands on villain but he seemed rather loose-aggro.

I get A /images/graemlins/spade.gifA /images/graemlins/club.gif in MP. No limpers to me and i raise to $2....

Re: Overplaying AA?

[ QUOTE ]
You don't have to push to price out drawing hands. I bet 2000-2400ish and push any turn. FWIW, I don't like your PF miniraise with AA. I think 2000-2500 is better and I like 2500 given his...

Re: when to limp late in tournament?

[ QUOTE ]

You're M is a little over 10 (read HOH), and at this point you can speculate a little and play a little more postflop poker and not just try to shove it all in preflop.

Re: when to limp late in tournament?

I fold 66 here because:

1. The risk of someone raising behind you is very big.
2. You will rarely get the implied odds you need to flop a set.
3. Hero's stack is a little too big to push with 66...

Re: AKs vs 2 all-in...

I would call. Looks too much like an isolation raise to me. No way the reraiser has AA or KK. UTG might push with almost any two cards here as the blinds hit him the next hand. If the reraiser has...

Re: Final table - A9s from UTG+1

I'm folding. Too many people yet to act and you are not getting desperate to play a hand this weak from out of position. I would hate to enter the pot and being raised by someone behind me. I'm not...

Re: AKs cripples me

[ QUOTE ]

Well, the idea would be to pick up a flush draw on the turn and then semi-bluff all in (check-raising all-in would be ideal, but it doesn't seem like stacks are deep enough for that).

Re: AKs cripples me

Couple of things to think about:

1) It's okay to go broke with AK. You basically lost a coin flip, there are worse ways to bust out.

2) If you raise with AK and get two callers, it...
