River Call EV calculation

Is my math correct here?

A=Pot size
B=Bet call size
T=Percent chance of split
W=Percent chance of Win
L=Percent chance of loss

EV=((A/2*T)+(L*-B)+(A*W))-B

Is the current Powerball drawing +EV

The current jackpot is $240 million. The odds of hitting the jackpot are 146,107,962 to 1. My question is how to calculate the EV or players edge here if there is one. I'm not sure how to factor...

Re: Fade my Picks

The problem is I have no clue how to get better. I have no system, and my gut feeling or stealing someone elses picks is just not getting it done. There are no good books on handicapping and for...

Fade my Picks

What a horrible weekend. Here's what I was on. I think I'll just stick to poker since its something I'm pretty good at. I flat out suck at picking winners.

Titans +7.5
Jets +7
Chiefs -1.5...

money lines comparison

Any good sites like covers.com around that compare the money lines between the books? Most of them seem to compare just the o/u and the spread.

Re: SF at AZ

I just think its lame that the 25 Cardinals season ticket holders are getting screwed out of a game.

Well, Mexico is the rapidly becoming the 51st state so I guess its not too far off.

Re: Free Money: Denver/KC under 49

The Chiefs D has been pretty stingy in points allowed per game so far (8th in NFL) Meanwhile Denver's O has been misfiring on all cylinders up to this point. The game is in Denver though where they...

Re: Really bad start to the NFL season

I would say part of your problem is you're making too many bets. If you're just learning, why have so much action? Seems like you're playing into the books hands. I would focus in on one or two...

Re: eagles vs niners game

This looks like a 31-10 Eagles win to me. TO should go off on his former team.

1/2 full or .5/1 6-max next

I'm beating the .5/1 full game at party for around 4.8 BB/100 over 15000 hands. While I know this isn't a lot of hands I'm fairly confident I'm beating this game. Is the next logical step 1/2 full...

Re: A Cry for help and a question...

If you're going to fold to a raise then why even bet the flop? You really think you're going to take it down with that flop bet on that board?

Re: A Cry for help and a question...

There are a lot of hands he could still be ahead of here. I guess if he has a good read on villain he can lay this down but this board has numerous draws. I would at least call the flop bet, check...

Re: KK HU OOP, call down or fold?

I think the combination of your hand still being good and lack of a solid read on this opponent dictates a call down here. Even if the worst case is true and he has a straight or a set you do have a...

Re: river

You defintely call this for one bet. You'd would have to be psychic to know to fold here getting 14-1. Let me guess, he turns over AT for the 3 outer?

Re: Turn semi-bluff w/ an all-in

I like the raise. If he had a real hand he would probably check raise you. Even if you are behind you have a lot of outs to suck out.
