Re: Preflop quiz for loose games (inspired by micro-limit post)

Say you're in a loose small stakes game, with 4-5 players seeing a flop.

In this hand, there is a raiser and 2 cold callers, and you are on the button, with somewhat loose blinds (you can expect...

Re: Playing KQo behind a maniac raiser - general SOP

IMHO KQo and maybe even KQs is to weak here. Its only 14% pfr and that isn't very maniacal. If he is in MP/LP and u have CO/button then one could argue for a probable case of raise!

Your "maniac"...

Re: poker chip denomination question

First I think you should buy chips without a printed denomination. There are several reasons for that.

Second I think its likely you want an equal amont of the two smallest chips (or even more of...

How to custom standard chips?

I have a set of standard chips (plastic or composite something 11.5g) and I wonder if there is some smart and fairly easy way to make a lasting custom-change (stamp?) those chips to hinder...

Re: Party 5/10 Winrates

I dont know what to make of the 5/10. Time to time it's as loose as the 3/6. One difference might be that the bad players are slightly more aggressive.

Table selection is very important. As soon...

Re: Hands Per Hour - Reasonable assumption?

At full table limit I would say 50 hands/hour is more accurate but it is somewhat limit-depending where the microlimits become slower due to more players seeing the flop and more newbies.

Re: KQs meets a 3-bet preflop

Having had similar problems with those hands including KQo and in later position KJ. All fairly strong hands that turn marginal at best against 3-bettors.

I think betting out has some advantages...

Re: Missed value bet? - hand w/ 2+2er

Re: How did I do?

A check-raising turn-3-bet vs several oponents usually means a VERY strong hand (or draw and then the field needs to be bigger) unless this is a maniac. If you ever are going to look for monsters...

I opened up the table and after one...

Re: Eagle in Search of the right questions to ask himself...

I think folding the flop a bit more helped up my agg-factor a lot as well as 3-betting the turn with TPTK or overpair versus +3 players not fearing the dreaded set or two-pair knowing I have a redraw...

Re: The wild 3-bets with medium pairs? Discussion about it?

For discussion, say Hero will openraise with AA-99, ATs, AJo, KJs, KQo and better broadway-combos so against all non-paired combos villain will have a slight preflop-advantage.

Open-raiser might...

Re: results, and a little discussion.

Hand is a good example of both excellent reads as well as the risk of the whole table going on tilt when a maniac is around.

I vote for just calling that river and raising it should be saved for when playing versus a total...
