Re: AKs preflop confusion
What do people think of a raise to 400 pre-flop, and, assuming UTG+1 is your only caller, pushing if it's checked to you on the flop?

Re: JJ Played right ?

You have to rearise here PF to 1200-1500 with JJ

Assuming this play, if he pushes, do you call or fold?

Re: Why did I choke on the bubble?
[ QUOTE ]
I'm wondering if there is a way to play this hand without going broke. say raise to 1800 for example and play the flop.

I'm curious about this as well. I suppose it...

Re: Top pair w/ flush draw vs. UTG limper
[ QUOTE ]
No, I busted on bubble. 44 left. I have T5500. Folded to me on cutoff with AQs, I push all-in. get called by Big stack BB with 77. He wins. I think I blew that one. bad move?

Re: AKo in the BB, $11+R Stars
In a normal game, I agree with you. But given that this is the $10, I think you need to broaden your range. Logic does not apply in these things.

Re: Knocked Out Hand #2
I probably fold this OOP pre-flop although might limp. However, assuming you made the plays you did and you're on the flop - I also like to fire at these ragged flops after a raise, but there's no...

Re: Should I have folded at some point
That is a tough one. I think you played it right all the way through, though you probably should consider folding to the all-in bet on the river. That being said, why would someone with trip 8s or a...

Re: Near the $ with AJ
I thought Harrington's point was that given someone super-aggressive who is making too many raises, you either want to rope-a-dope (call him off) or reraise -- but the most important issue is that...

I know the big stack and he views me as a rock. It's obvious he doesn't want me to call.

The big stack probably has AA-99, AK, AQs, AQ, AJs, and KQs.

I should mention that this was a limit tournament - so UTG had no choice but to min raise

Re: Hand that knocked me out #1
Out of curiosity, what is the min hand people would make this move on? JJ and QQ (since he probably doesn't have KK or AA with such a big raise)? What about TT? I guess with any of those holdings I'd...

Re: Small pair at final table
Fold. The fact that UTG min-raised and didn't push, even though he is pot-committed, to me suggests a monster. At best you are against two overs and are a coinflip, at worst (and more likely IMHO)...

What if your opponent doesn't check raise on the flop but merely calls? A blank comes on the turn. What does the hero do now? If you don't bet you still encourage a weaker hand to bluff....

Re: 6:1 call against two shortstack all-ins?
I definitely think you have to call. In these $20 tourneys, I don't know if you can count on BB thinking about FE. He's probably trying to isolate, and I have seen people make the same movie with any...

Re: Simple $200 + $25 hand
If he's a solid player and has a strong ace, I can't see why he'd overbet the pot like that. But given your description he seems not-so-solid. I guess I lay it down.

Re: blind stealing hand
Absent any reads on BB, I don't like the call. You've got a good stack, only getting something like 2.5-1 odds, and don't need to make dangerous plays.
However, full disclosure, I have a strong...

Re: Getting too aggressive with a monster draw
I agree that you were too aggressive. I don't mind the first raise on the flop so much, but when he reraises, you might as well call since assuming he has an 8, some of your outs could be some of...
