Re: Site where cards run fairly even?
Sounds good to me, where do I sign up?
Fish will call anyway even if they are certainly beat, that's why they're fish. The problem is you never know when they make their hand (until now), since...

Re: Site where cards run fairly even?
No thanks, but at least I got out while I still had a bit of cash. Even loaded dice exhibit randomness.
I didn't even mention rakebacks - sheesh, how do you think they make money if they're giving...

Re: Party Pooper Horror Stories
I stopped playing there because of all the multitabling rocks, and the fish would always draw out on you.

Re: Site where cards run fairly even?
Hold on a minute, just because the cards are random doesn't mean they're fair, only that you cannot predict the sequence of future occurences- and unlike some of the articles mentioned, not every...

I'm giving up on online poker.

Re: SSHE p.148: Continuing with marginal hands
Not valid - if get two callers on a check raise they almost definitely have something, put in a weak ten and a flush draw and your chances of winning actually drop.

Re: SSHE p.148: Continuing with marginal hands
RAKE!!!!! RAKE!!!!!!
I forgot to even think about rake effects here.
I wonder if anyone ever figured out the actual EV/hand for this example. It may be ones of those examples where theoretically...

Re: SSHE p.148: Continuing with marginal hands
I agree that computer simulations don't show everything since they assume that you will stay until the end, but that is part of my point. The best-case scenario of 5 random hands gives you an edge...

Re: SSHE p.148: Continuing with marginal hands
This is a bit after the fact, but I was rereading SSHE myself and wondering about this hand. I ran it through pokerstove vs 5 random hands and various plausible situations, and in all cases except...

Re: A common occurence at all levels
Yes, but they are even more likely to have nothing,
Yesterday I had pocket aces and there was a 4 straight and a possible flush on board at the river. Because I knew my opponent I called and won a...

Re: kk with a on board
nothin you could do about either one, in hand 1 the guy flopped a set, and in the second calling a raise in the small blind w a suited ace isn't a bad play.
BTW, I find SSHE's recommendations for...

Re: A common occurence at all levels
It mostly depends on your players.
If you use PT, and are againt a passive type such as a rock or a mouse, then by all means fold, especially if the pot is small.
If you are vs a laggy maniac,...

At first glance it looks like if there was collusion then the other partner should have never called the last bet on the second hand, since the hands were showed down. Also, I am not sure if the...

Re: Playing Marginal Hands vs. Possible Draws
After further thought, since people usually do not play random cards (except at very low limits, which ends up burning me), if there are many people in a hand it is likely that at least one of them...
