Re: Why
I like your rational, but I'm not sold the raise is so clearly correct.
Firing the two flop bullets only reduces the odds to 1:8ish so unless the field is capable of folding when they should call,...

Re: AQo against LA-P fold the turn?
Is the opponent crafty enough to raise for protection. Either way, I can't be sure he has a K which means I three-bet for three reasons: 1. potential value, 2. feel out his holding, 3. retain...

Re: I check behind an overpair
Once checked to on the flop, I think you have to value bet.
Couple of points of interest -
If you cold call all 3 PF how does your plan change on Flop?
Given the Flop check, what's the game...

Re: Good spot for overcalls ?
I do think the flop call is pretty dubious - no one has called in front, you don't close the action, and one of your outs makes the flush. But if the table plays passive and you expect to collect...

Re: Fun with KTo
Nick,
I like the PF raise with the posters in the pot, but otherwise believe the best hand will usually still win in this game. Not sure if KTo is lending much of an edge, even in position.

Re: Should I ever get away from this?
I've read this thread through and am surprised more people did not vote for a flop or turn fold. Without a read I default to unimaginative and am only concerned if he is capable of opening with a...

Re: AK hand
I'll take your comment into consideration for the future.
Regardless, your comments seem to suggest a Turn raising war on a single suit board now that your top two has been counterfeited. Have...

Re: A situation I hate...
The flop is disconnected and ugly, I dig the bet. As for the Turn, the question is very simple: Is this guy capable of tossing out a c/r with just a naked A(or less)? If not, fold. If he is, I...

Re: 33
Fair enough. But I play a ton of live 2/4 and 5/10 and don't know many passive players that open raise UTG with anything less than a premium holding. If my range is too conservative, what range...

Re: AK hand
This situation is a little different than normal since you're HU. However, since he is very unlikey to have flopped either a flush or hand better than yours you should 3-bet and lead any Turn. If...

Re: 33
At a table riddled with passive idiots I don't see how three betting out of the SB to an UTG raise can seem like a good idea. If the table is as you describe the range of hands for UTG includes AA,...

Re: At what point do I fold?
The pot odds are deceptive in this hand. Your 6 overcards outs aren't clean since hands like KT and QT are well within the playing range of any 2/4 limper and matters are compounded further by the...

Re: Top set, but what now?
You have huge equity against a draw heavy flop - there is no reason to slowplay.
Given that you did not raise the flop you got your wish in lots of turn action and a very strong redraw to top full...

KQo in the CO - What\'s your turn move?
Live 2/4 at Potowatami Casnio in Milwaukee
I pick up KQo in the cutoff. While I'm new to the table, the BB looks LP and MP1 is paying everyone off with marginal hands.
PF (9 handed): UTG...

Nick,
I agree with Eric here - this play looks great against a thinking player and is a neat concept in general. Good timing, good execution, just good. In fact, if you slapped me with a c/r in...

My mistake - MP1 as listed on the Flop, Turn, and River is actually the poster, MP2.

Re: Value bet this?
Dubious turn bet - raise. This will knock out UTG+1 and MP1 will let you know if really has that 2. Since you were going to call anyway you have invested the same amount, knocked out UTG+1 and now...

Re: anyone let this one go?
I live for pot odds and Howard Lederer is my poker hero, I did not overlook the 9:1 odds given extended by the pot.
Personally, I don't think there much value in ever playing J5s - but if UTG raised...

Re: anyone let this one go?

I would definitely play this here, especially because he can raise the SB if he flops a good hand.

The equity for J5s is just so small that flopping a "good hand" won't...
