Re: Maldini\'s Vegas Trip Report part III

As a matter of factly, I am enjoying these very much as well.
You should submit trip reports for everyone as most are dull
around here.

Keep up the fantastic work.

Re: First trip to AC

I believe the rake is the same for all games up to the higher limits where they start a time-charge. It's 10% up to 4 dollars for rake. I think they start a time charge at 15/30 and above at most...

Re: Going to vegas, not 21

[ QUOTE ]
Why does everyone here act like trying to gambool underage is such a heinous act?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not a heinous act. But I don't think anyone would gamble if they knew they were...

Re: Going to vegas, not 21

[ QUOTE ]
i've heard from most people that they let you cash out if caught.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sure they let you cash out and take their money if you get caught. Because if they take it from you,...

Re: Why wouldn\'t this make NY card rooms legal?

Hmmm... I know I've seen this in another thread... but it still begs the question. I have been to Japan where gambling is illegal (althought it most likely has something to do with organized crime),...

Re: Arrive Vegas tomorrow - 1st stop?

TheHotel is great. Stayed there last time I was in Vegas and it was awesome. The flatscreen in the main room was fantasic... everything was. TheHotel dumps out into the MB casino right at the...

Re: Priceline/AC

I've used priceline to stay at the Sheraton Convention Center up there before, and it was great. Our room was really nice. Cost me about 80 if I remember correctly, and I just cabbed everywhere I...

Re: Classic wait to the river and bet here; yes, yes?

Hmmm... if the board doesn't pair with that heart... maybe this does call for a value bet here. I still think if he hits his draw he goes for the check-raise. If he opens, I call knowing I'm...

Re: Pocket 6s, play along....REST OF TURN

Reraise... play it strong... you're starting to pay for mistakes you made by not betting the flop and showing your strength. If I had two overcards... I would raise here hoping to take down the pot...

Re: Pocket 6s, play along....

Bet hoping for a TAG raise to knock out the others so I can out play him heads up (or at least with one donk in between). If TAG calls... he has overcards for sure... and I'm ahead. If someone else...

Re: Classic wait to the river and bet here; yes, yes?

I don't like it. No, no. I hate to give a worst case scenario... but I want the BB to pay me off when he's drawing against me and doesn't hit his draw. Especially when it's a flush or a straight...

Re: 5/10 Party Hand

[ QUOTE ]
With no reads this hand was played retarded.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree. With at most six outs and a small pot on the flop... your hand could be best with A high... but it's a clear...

Re: Anyone like my line here?

I think he's drawing to about 15 discounted outs. Bet the turn here. UI on the river... check/fold.

Re: Scared like a nit with AA (Low content)

I like this line... I wouldn't put any of these donks on a hand that could make a straight... unless you count the 88. Maybe a set... but looks more like JJ, QQ, or KK. I lead out on the river and...

Re: Did I horribly butcher this hand?

I would have folded or called two bets to me on this flop... your sevens are rarely winning this hand UI. Without the reads it hard to tell what they had... and set and an overpair?

Re: Set vs flush and straight draw 2

[ QUOTE ]
Even if your opponents pull you aside and show you a flush and a straight, respectively, you're still not wrong to bet this pot.

You've got 10 outs to improve, after all: 9 cards pair...

Re: What would you do?

Fold... you're way behind... to at least both of them and with 2 outs to catch up... you'll need an awful big pot to make that bet worth calling (laying about 23:1). You've got the worst of it here....

Re: Player Error - Poker Ettiquite

I think Sklansky says that you have no friends at a poker once the cards are dealt. You are there to win money.

On the other hand, I would have just raised the raiser forcing him to put in...

Re: 3/6 - best decision?

That's what I said told him... here's what I responded with:

I raise for a few reasons. I have MPGK (mid-pair good kicker), I want to knock out players behind me that have a weak draw or a...

Re: 77 against a PFR

I read the other posts... I think your play is fine and you are giving too much credit to the donk for having a good hand. The river bet is fantastic... it's a value bet. You make money when he...

Re: trips, lots of action

[ QUOTE ]
Five non-backdoor flush hands beat you: 88, 99, 98, A8, K8; and one ties. BB has to be pretty bad/loose to bet like this without an 8. I guess we're hoping he has 87?

Re: AQs flush draw on paired board

Looks like BB slowplayed JJ or had 66 preflop and hit a monster on the flop. The flush doesn't scare these two on the turn... and if you know they're not fish... you might have bailed on the 2 bets...

Re: trips, lots of action

What's up with the pfr with Q8o in your first orbit? You doing that for information or is that a standard play for you in CO?
