$40-$80 - Commerce

$40-$80HE - Commerce
Game is pretty loose with no strong local players. Most pots limped to the BB, with sporadic raising, including capped raising preflop.

I limp UTG with black pocket 8s. Four...

Re: How much dead money in WPT Championship?

Poker has expanded so fast and there have become so many new players via TV or the internet that "dead money" must have a new meaning.

"Dead money" typically has meant, "no chance."

Well today,...

Re: TOP 5 MOST UNDERRATED WPT PLAYERS

"1)Phil Hellmuth

2)Doyle Brunson

3) T.J. cloutier

4)David Sklansky

If these were the 4 to choose that would be close to the order. Which is clearly wrong. And if you asked the general...

Re: TOP 5 MOST UNDERRATED WPT PLAYERS

Smoothcall,

While it may be sacrilege to say so on this forum, I would hardly say David is close to being underrated.

First, he one of the most recognizable name in the game. Include the sales...

Re: Champion of the Authors

David,

Congratulations on your win.

Reasonable question, when it became headsup between you and Doyle and he had you outchipped 10-1, in all fairness, if most any us had your hands against his,...

Re: High stakes cash games on TV

I am very interested in a High Stakes cash game. Here is how it might be done. The details to be worked out but here are some concept:

1) The network pays pays each player about 50% of a buy in,...

Re: 20-40 AQo

BK,

I see AQ in this situation, one that is not that bad of a decision either way. Remember, there are few situations you want to do all the time...to become easily readable.

I prefer to lay...

Re: Flush draw

Andy,

If I think the SB will likely call if I 3 bet, then that is what I usually will do. Get the money in now, take the lead and get information.

If I may lose the SB, I usually flat call. If...

Re: Paradise 5 max 10-20: Weakly played QQ

Oooh Anatta, need to bet that overpair in a short game, even with three suited cards on the board.

Vince,

This must have been an omen. It is not playing Aces & Eights, it is laying off PLO. - /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Midnight Hold\'Em

Coilean,

Based upon your description of the player and the situation, I actually want to call the river.

Either he has AA or making some play, or he has AK and bets blind to represent the...

Re: Flopped Draw--Would you play it the same?

Jeffage,

I liked how you played the hand. Just one of those misses. Move on to the next hand.

Re: Mirage 20-40: Great blind steal opportunity, good flop, but I\'m beaten

Dynasty,

Your intent was to checkraise right?

If the player is indded tight I would be concerned getting checked behind. Even a checkraise may not get paid off.

I prefer lead betting hoping...

Re: Sklansky slammers argument skewered!

This gets down to the age old question of best player of them all!

But, what is the criteria? Davdid sets forth a game condition which is neither likely nor realistic. Further, he surely does not...

Re: What he said is unambiguous

Mason,

Actually, the NL HE game is going strong at Lucky Chances, Colma. I was playing the $20-$40HE, on Wed. (Sept.3) and there were two full games and a third with 6-7 players when I cashed out....

Re: made gutshot on turn

Bill,

Well, you made the thrid best straight next to J9 and 96. I would prefer to lead out and have a chance to get out larger gutshot draws.

J.R.

What did the player between you do? Call or fold?

Re: Bellagio hand: A9o in BB

"In the first version I concluded that calling with A9o was +EV by about $10 (in a 15-30 game) but now I concede that the EV is close to zero and should be folded."

The great value of this forum....

Re: 15-30: 5 hands vs same opponent

Clark,

Fairly straightforward. Big multi-way, betting straight out and reraising when you get the chance.

I like your player descriptions.

Re: Any good books specifically on Pot Limit and No Limit HE?

Poseiden,

I read both Ciffione's "NL-PL" and Cloutier's "NL-PL" books.

I found the Ciffione significantly more helpful for me. It explains the strategy well, gives situation examples.

Re: NLHE 2+2er goes all-in against me - easy decision?

Ulysses,

Yeah, kind of a quandry but I agree with the move in. Frankly with that pot size and your hand, you are pot committed. So fire it all in and if the any of the others want to gamble then...

Re: Bellagio 15-30 & 30-60: UTG flopped nut flushes. Missed check-raises?

So Dynasty, UTG you like to limp with A small suited?

Do you think most of the local $15-$30HE Bellagio players do also? Not being critical, just trying to learn. Thanks.
