Re: Civ4 - Review & Trailer

Re: Civ4 - Review & Trailer
I agree that chess and go and poker are much better games. I've seen some fans say that Civ 4 is like chess or go, but more complex, and think...whaaa? Not hardly. What it has is tons of detail,...

I just got this. Looks good, but is there any way to speed up the gameplay? I don't care for the animations and I'm sure some of the pauses could be removed.

Re: Civ4 - Review & Trailer
Cool. That's definitely an older computer for modern games. You definitely could use lots more memory, too.

As usual, Amazon is taking forever to ship this. It doesn't matter what mailing arrangements you make, they take three days to even get the thing out their door.

Re: Civ4 - Review & Trailer
I'd be very surprised if you didn't find having a gig or more very helpful in this game. Note I don't have it yet, but this was the case with RTS games even going years back, and with Civ 2. We're...

Re: Civ4 - Review & Trailer
Civ games are memory hogs. You will want at least a gig of memory, or you will have lots of slowdowns panning across the screen, and at other times too.

I said I wasn't going to, but I broke down and ordered it yesterday. From Amazon. They usually add a day or two if not more extra into the shipping no matter what speed you tell them to ship it at.
