Re: Who has the safest career stat lead??
Why does Doyle Brunson feel compelled to continue playing poker? Why does Bill Gates continue to work? You told me not to, but I'm going to go ahead and say for the love of the game. Pitching...

Re: Who has the safest career stat lead??
with the NBA though eventually you will have a kid who is able to break into the league at age 18 or 19 and play into his late 30s. I think Stockton's record will fall in the next 30 years.

Re: Who has the safest career stat lead??
I did see the race, and remember him pulling away on the final 100, but don't remember if he let up in the last 10m or not. Nevertheless, his 44.00 is his personal record, so I can't imagine he was...

Re: Who has the safest career stat lead??
Yup. It's been 9 years since 19.32 and no one has even sniffed anything close. Compare times from ~40 years ago to ones being run now. Lee Evans 43.86 in 1968 400m would have topped Jeremy...

Re: Who has the safest career stat lead??
Well on Lou Gerhig's HOF plaque it mentioned that his record was "meant to stand for all time" so people pretty much saw that as unbreakable. Bob Beamon's long jump was thought to be unbreakable for...

Re: Who has the safest career stat lead??
With dominant pitchers like Johnson and Clemens performing well into their 40s, I think Ryan's record is not completely safe, although it may last a while. Randy Johnson will probably not get there,...

Re: Cutting in Line
I think the "excuse me guys, I think this guy/girl is next" followed by a swift kick to the kishkas would work fine.

Cal Ripken vs My Dad\'s friend
The other post on streaks got me thinking...my dad had a friend who worked for DuPont for 55 years and never missed a single day of work. Is his streak more or less impressive than Cal Ripken's?

Why is everyone talking about Kenya? Has a single world class sprinter ever come out of Kenya? They're distance runners over there. The pure speed all comes from Western Africa.

Re: hand long can I last in a live game?
longest session ever was 46 hours, ended up about +0.4BB/hr. I've had several winning ~30hr sessions though and that shouldn't be a big deal for a youngster like yourself.
