Re: Why SS is not as good as it could have been (rant content)

When you're between the ages of 15 and 18, you know everything. Which is why there are so many confident posters here.

Re: HU: chipleader Kc 7c What\'s your move?

No telling what he has here, but most of the time he'll have a pair, and you'll be behind. If he's the all-in on a small pot type of guy, you can find a better spot.

Re: KJ on bubble. Is this a push?

The idea that the BB is auto-folding after Hero limps and Button raises is wrong.

BB can see that many big stacks would make this play with any two. He can also see that if he folds he'll have...

Re: Horrible Call by Villain?

He knows you don't have a real hand, because if you did, you'd c/r the turn, not the flop.

That leaves exactly AT, which isn't all that likely, and even more unlikely after the board pairs.

He...

There are a lot of teenagers on this site.

They post that way because they think it makes them look cool.

Well put.

And there's not one of those creepy Republicans who'd trade places with an alcoholic, mentally ill homeless man, even for the $600 a month - or whatever it is - he suposedly gets from...

Re: Tough situation with ATs

I've never played .25/.50 on Absolute, but fwiw,

I like checking the flop. Against four players, when I've missed the flop with AT, I'll take the free card.

The turn is tougher. My first...

Settle a bet

So my friend and I made a 10% swap on a tourny.

I limped into the money and he went out early.

My prize was 50, entry 20, so I say net = $30, his percent = $3.

He says he should get $5.

Re: Is this cold call acceptable, marginal, or terrible

The first good explanation I saw was Hamlet's.

The OP's play was interesting. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have thought of it, until he explained it. I think it's probably a long run loser, but...

Re: Is this cold call acceptable, marginal, or terrible

I agree. Things went very well for the OP in this hand.

He flopped a boat against (apparently) two flushes. It doesn't get much better than that. I think the 20BB pot is closer to the maximum...

Re: Is this cold call acceptable, marginal, or terrible

Hamlet - nice post, and I agree the biggest problem with this play is the times you flop a set and still lose.

But I'm not sure about cutting net set profits in half when he loses 25%.

Re: QQ vs. 2+2er

Re: Bet-folding the flop, I guess it depends on whether he's seen you do it before. If he has, he wouldn't need too much of a chance that you might do it again, to make this raise profitable.

Re: My properly bankrolled 3-6 debut.

I'm not thrilled with raising with Q9, but I like the play of the rest of the hand. On the flop you've got a pair hu, and AK/AQ are reasonable hands for the Villain. On the turn you've got an...

Re: Poker Stars FPP poker chips?

I have a set. I'm not a chip aficionado, but these chips are fine. They're not that different from Vegas chips. They have a slightly "harder" feel to them, and that's about it. They're a hundred...

I'm going to be a senior too.

I started with the change under my couch, and I paid off my parents' mortgage last week. Next week they're naming the new college rec center after me.
