Re: Another turn

stats suggest a fold but 40 hands ain't much. Is he one to make this raise with only 2 pair or better?

Re: Is this an easy fold?

Villain is raising twice an orbit and regularly overbetting flop. Advice here is player dependent not level dependent.

Re: Is this an easy fold?

Odds are you've the best hand. Most likely villain is very aggressive on the flop but shuts down on turn and river. And so

1. you can call flop and see what he does on turn
2. you can raise flop...

Re: KK hand

Not really--it is so player dependent and even then things ain't clear, 'cause play at 50nl tables is so variable.

At this level some always read a reraise preflop as aa, kk, qq. Others don't look...

Re: KK hand

aa, qq I guess. 50/50 + 20 added in 'cause it is BODOOGG makes this an easy decision!

Re: Results

You only have to get a fold 5% of the time for this push to be ev+. Well played, FISH /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: A rare drawing hand for me

Yes.

Check/raise all in oop, though in this hand you might not be deep enough to get him to fold a pair if you check raise all in if he pots the turn.

Re: Playing KQ pre-flop

I was advising strictly for 6 max. Haven't played full ring since I found 6.

In 6 when called behind me I'm cautious and have no problem check folding and moving on to the next hand if I don't...

Re: Playing KQ pre-flop

And so raising it preflop gives you 2 ways to win. Of course if being fair postflop means that you will only continue with 2 pair or better with no one left to act behind u then I suggest a fold. Our...

Re: A rare drawing hand for me

hey Mikey--try it, you'll like it!

Against any underpair you are a fav. on the flop; add FE into the equation and you are ev+. I usually do A; but just because I remember after it is too late to...

Re: Playing KQ pre-flop

hmmm--interesting. I'd say if u are only fair postflop then you need to raise or fold this hand utg; utg-1. Limping utg in a family pot when folks are playing any 2 is tough.

Re: A rare drawing hand for me

two lines:
a. push
b. call; all in on any turn. b is a TWP line and his reasons are:

sets are calling any flop bet but may pay you off even if you hit on the turn

you don't want to fold out a...

Re: Playing KQ pre-flop

Raising to 5xbb utg or utg +1 often buys u the button in 6 max.

Looking to play a small pot with a particular hand is not the way to approach the game. Look to play well post flop; read hands;...

Re: 3 AK preflop hands (with a quiz!)

only 1 clear to me is #3--though if they are so bad I'd seriously consider calling and playing position.

hand 1 looks fishy--2 min-raises.

hand 2 I'd love to see a flop, though I'd be afraid of...

Re: Playing KQ pre-flop

6 max raise it utg to button (kq beats 80% of hands). I raise utg and utg1 5x blind; otherwise 3 or 4x + 1; if called by a tighty behind you, be careful. There is no reason to limp with this hand in...

Re: blind battle against a lag

Why make reads if you aren't gonna follow?--

Exactly, though I'm not very good at following through against an all in.

So in hu play you fold k high in the sb? (I know this isn't hu play but I...

Re: TJ suited on the button

Why do you think he bet the 5? Buying it; weak value betting; looking to get reraised? It seems he liked his hand on the flop.

Re: blind battle against a lag

My main focus is on the cards and the player, sometimes one, more than the other; but my decisions are typically based on what I have vs. what he is likely to have given the type of player he is.

Re: set against possible flush

At the time the turn call was strictly to boat up. I gave him credit for the flush at that point. It was only after watching him play some big hands pretty poorly that I began to question the river...

Yea--the turn call is clear. Should've posted the river decision--he went all in, I folded. Guess this decision is a clear fold also but as I watched his play in the rest of the session I started...
