Re: 8/b - good laydown on 6th st.?

it is true that you will sometimes make a small pair and take half the pot instead of nothing, but I play a live baby straight draw to scoop huge pots .. these hands were meant for multiway action.

Re: 8/b - good laydown on 6th st.?

the reason I did not raise 4th is because I wanted the kings in there. I have seven high right now, so getting the kings to fold is not going to do me much good. I want the kings to pay me off if I...

Re: Stud 8 and questionable 6th street call?

[ QUOTE ]
I also raise fifth, since you have a board lock for low with two cards to come. This will get enough money in the pot that I'm almost certainly looking at the last card in a big pot.

Re: Stud 8 and questionable 6th street call?

i would have jammed it on 4th street, but there's nothing wrong with calling - it's much bigger fluctuations the way I reccomend but you are a strong favorite to make the best low and your cards are...

8/b - good laydown on 6th st.?

Didn't think I would get jammed but my 8's were dying like mayflies. Was I correct to wait for a better spot?

Re: Yet another low-limit stud 8 hand...

calling all your money off is seldom good choice .. i agree with the other posters that drawing to a dead flush for likely half the pot in a small pot is never advisable, but given that you made the...

Re: High Hands Suck

[ QUOTE ]
OK, so the guy is insane. I don't think that's a reason to cap with a weakish one-way hand.

[/ QUOTE ] andy, he did not cap, he 3 bet to try to get heads up with a door card smaller...

Re: Stud 8 low limit hand at Stars - worked out, but any misplays?

[ QUOTE ]
I didn't see that you were last to act on fourth, I think a call is much more of an option here. Would you still call this if you weren't last to act?

[/ QUOTE ] you actually were...

Re: Was this hand played wrong? (.50/1, Stars stud 8)

[ QUOTE ]

I think that sixth is worth a bet. The other guy probably has a worse low draw and no pair, so you're likely winning in both directions.

[/ QUOTE ] my read is that the the player...

Re: Misplayed low-limit stud 8 hand heads up?

agree totally - the most value in these hands is in a semi-steal raise.

Re: Stud/8 - flush on 5th

i meant raise 5th - but you get the idea .. then you'll have to pay it off of course due to the pot odds.

Re: Stud/8 - flush on 5th

this is a classic example of how passive play gets you into trouble - if you bet 4th and bet 5th, your decisions become much easier and you possibly win it on 5th. - given the way the hand was played...

Re: Stud 8 low limit hand at Stars - worked out, but any misplays?

[ QUOTE ]

Third street is a little debateable. WIth a low ante like this I would prob muck it, but I may be persuaded otherwise.

Bad positioning vs. Leader on Flop

Is it too dangerous to flat call on the flop with str8 and flush draws possible? Didn't want to push out the limpers.

Re: Flopping two pair in the blinds

first of all, you can not fold the river - the pot is so big you'd have to be about 95% sure you're beat. It's just pure math even if you feel strongly that your beat.

second, I like the way you...

Re: Help me with 30/60 h/l

Re: Stud8 - Day 6, Hand 3: Playing with the crazy LAG

i agree with andy - your hand does not warrant as much raising as you did on 3rd - but it's less of an error than normal because of the big multiway action .. given your reads and the size of the...

Re: Stud8 - Day 6, Hand 1: 554 picks up trips on 4th and plays bad

passive play leads to difficult decisions and missed value bets - you were playing guessing games on 5th unneccessarily - who wouldn't bet a 4 flush to try to pick up the pot there even if it was...

8/b: when to call bricks

One of the factors that influences when to take a card off with a brick on 4th st. is the strength of your hand. I usually call with 3 wheel cards, suited babies, and an extremely live 456 offsuit .....

Re: Stud8 - Day 6, Hand 2: Bring-in picks up kings on 4th
