Re: Curtains: KQo UTG 5-handed
Interesting! Switching the equity modeling off turns a clear push into a fold.
I checked it because was pretty surprised by your "opinion" to fold KQo with less than 8 BB in the CO+1. I pushed that...

Re: Curtains: KQo UTG 5-handed
What calling ranges do you give your opponents? I gave the BB loose and everyone else average, and then it is a push with blinds 100/200. Do you really think the bigstack looks you up with A4o?

Re: 22$; three hands for inspection
Hand #1: Raise more preflop. You are giving pocket pairs like 66 too good implied odds. If the flop comes 863r, you get stacked with kings for just 50 chips preflop.
If you think he always would bet...

Re: PS $11, an AK hand
IMO, you played it fine. I don't mind if you raise with AK in the blinds or not. Both options are viable.
The river push is fine. You will be up against a weaker ace or two pair far more often than...

Re: Stars $60 muck AKs preflop?
If wired had more chips than you then I would fold.
Given that the outcome has to be wired > Bandit > you to end OTM, it's an easy push for me.

Re: How many sng\'s have you won in a row..?
3, several times (in nearly 3000 sngs). Can't get to 4; closest I got was 7 tournies (33s) in a row which ended 1311121.
However, I won my first 109, my first 215 and my first 525+30 turbo. Does it...

Fold though the numbers say \'Call!\'?
Villain has been fairly tight so far. I don't think he would push something like T9o here. Nevertheless, eastbay's tool advocates to call against any reasonable range of hands (e.g. any pair, any...

friend plays after disconnection - % for him?
Say, you start to play a set of sitngo-tournaments. In level 3 you get disconnected. You try to log in again, but you fail. You call a friend who logs into your account and plays the tournies for...

Re: Is This Stupid?
Would have played it the same.
1) You are 65% against his random holding. You can't expect a much better chance to double up.
2) Yes, I would have called, too. IMO, you will be shown 77-99 more...

Re: Biggest downswing?
I have seen discussions about variance, I have participated in discussions about variance, I have run simulations etc.
But that is the theory. When it comes to the true, hard practice I'd like to...

Biggest downswing?
Haven't seen a post about this so far, so I ask:
What was your biggest downswing in terms of buy-ins?
I start the bidding with a 48.
(This is, of course, only interesting if you're a winning...

Re: HU with Huge Stack: How to Play?
Isn't this forum jargon ("do you see why?")?
HU you can simply fail your decision based on pot odds as +CEV means +$EV.
Another possibility to find out if you should shove or not is to calculate...

Re: $6: overpair in a fishy pot
1.) With less than 10 BB I would push with 88, with more than 12 BB limp. With your stack I could even imagine a fold, however, a limp should be fine.
2.) Of course, you call.
3.) I'd push over...

Re: problems with HU
You raised with Q5 and Q8 when your opponent had 4.5 and 7.5 BB. If he has less than 10 BB you should put him all-in in the first place. After his reraise you are absolutely committed to call. Your...

Re: Me vs. ICM
Haven't checked anything with programs, here is how it would play in a tourney:
#1 Push
#2 Push
#3 Fold
#4 If the SB had a normal stack size, I would definitely push. I do not like to show down...

Re: Five quick hands from my last SnG (20+2).
#1 With so many players in the hand I would insta-muck after the flop-bet.
#2 Looks fine, though I might consider pushing preflop to accumulate some chips.
#3 I would have played it the same. A...

Re: Ever heard of this? (action-oriented post)
A few months ago I tried it myself in a 20+2 and a 30+3. It was fun, especially when one of my pushes got called and I accidentally held KK.
However, I don't think it is possible to pull a positive...

Re: A simulation of Variance (Long)
Hi,
I also made an excel-sheet with a simulation over 2000 sitngos and in your case with 12% 1st, 11% 2nd and 12% 3rd (ROI 6.4%) you will encounter dramatic swings. It's not at all unusual to drop...
