How long should I wait before playing again?[tilt, 3 successive beats]

This is the worst run I've ever had. These hands occured within 5 minutes of eachother. I stopped playing after the last hand because I knew I'd be tilting something fierce.

All at 50NL, at full...

Re: For those of you wondering if you should move up from 25NL to 50NL...

Well as-is, he had a very small stack in relation to the pot on the flop, so it was an easy call. If he would have put in a real 3-bet preflop, I would have considered a muck (3-bet push) I would...

Re: Will a raise let him off too easily?

In retrospect I definately should have lead out for more, it makes the entire hand easier.

I popped it to $30 and he mucked.

Lesson learned; lead for more money, hope for a minraise then...

Re: Will a raise let him off too easily?

Sorry, its past the edit time. I missed some key info. On the turn I bet weakly, hoping that he'd try to bully me around.

Will a raise let him off too easily?

Villian is really really loose, and tilting from losing two buyins very very recently. He has been betting a lot with air, but I don't know if he would 3-bet bluff.

Getting my newbie brother a poker book-- which one?

The generic answer is Super System as a starting book, and I'm actually leaning towards that. I fear that other books such as HOH or ToP might be above him.

What is the best newbie book that you...

Re: NL 100 - Turn overbet good move?

I love it. Even if you are behind (unlikely) you have a lot of outs. Plus, it looks like a genuine stela, and players at this limit love to make a "big call".
