Re: KQ top pair

although i don't think its very clear cut i think this might be a good time for WA/WB line on the flop, ie check call the flop. I dont want to give a tag the chance to raise my flop bet with QQ/JJ...

8-16 1/2 kill: Red queens, black flop

Live 9 handed 8-16 game with ~5 to every flop. All three villians are extremely loose preflop and postflop. SB is aggressive capable of betting and raising a draw. BB and UTG are somewhat passive....

Re: Is this for real?

"60 million dollar winner take all tournament? They might as well say they're giving away the state of Louisiana"---Todd Brunson on Carplayer.com video interview.

Damn that made me laugh.

nut flush draw, turn & river questions

Full Tilt 1/2 9 handed. EDIT: I have no stats because I haven't gotten pokertraker for my new computer yet. But my notes say:
SB is "LAG but not maniacal, raises light preflop".
BB is playing...

Re: Should I bet this river

Even if a generally passive opponnent wanted to take a stand with a bluff they are usually not going to be doing it against somebody they have only been playing 3 orbits against. A passive opponent...

Re: Trading vegetarianism for the day

As a vegetarian and mathematician I find your friends offer and reasoning to be quite illogical. If he really wanted to adhere to his own reasons for not eating meat then he should want more people...

Re: 5/10 river decision, set

I agree that the limp isn't standard, only because in my opinion there isn't necessarily a standard play for 88 utg. Raising v. calling would be dependent on the table and your image.
I think you...

QQ sb board double pairs

The game is 6-12 live. Its barely my first orbit so no solid reads but my intuition says that all opponnents in the hand are loose, eg playing about 30-35% of their hands. Villian in particular...

Re: 3/6 - QQ - I used to check these rivers

[ QUOTE ]
Can we change the read on villian to somewhat decent/thinking player. How much value is in this river bet then?

[/ QUOTE ]
From the way villian played the hand and if we accept that...

Re: A10 offsuit BB

i fold here, bad position and the high likelihood of being dominated is a very bad combo. domination leads to lots of second best hands that lose lots of money. besides you could always end up...

Re: math teaser, kinda tough

i just realised something...i dont think this question is well formulated and i think the only way to solve it is to add an assumption, ie:
Age(John)>Age(Art) does not imply Art is not John's uncle...

tom is the fireman, petes brother and johns uncle

Re: Now or later?

A tight ABC player will most likely have a flush draw here meaning that he will probably only bet the turn if he's ahead (only the 2d fills you up), thus in my opinion waiting for the turn to raise...

Re: River raise with AK UI

I think I would need something beyond his hand range to pull a move like this on the river. I.e. a very scary river card AND an opponnent I've seen fold for 1 bet in a big pot on the river. I don't...

Re: Biiiiiiig Pot, Ed Miller scenario

In the very worst case scenario where your not drawing dead on the flop you would be up against something like A8, KK and TT-22 (except 55), in this case you have exactly 20.9% equity. Since...

Re: How do you avoid not losing a lot of money on this hand?

I think raising the flop is better. Slowplaying in this case is not good in my opinion for a few reasons. first off the pots already 10sb when it gets to you (not big but not small either). the...

Re: How Many Mistakes Did I Make In This Hand???

I don't see the limp reraise too often in my games but when it has happened the range of hands seems to be JJ+, AJs+, AK and every once in a while a maniac with a medium pp or suited connector. ...
