Question for Canadian Players

WSOP 1997 video?

Think this would be the right forum. Does anyone know of a store that sells old WSOP VHS tapes? 1997 with Ungar is what I'm looking for. I checked ebay but found nothing but some BS DVD set that...

Re: Is It Possible To Win A Tight Hold \'em Game, Theoretically?

playing the opposite of your opponents is actually correct AS LONG AS THEY FAIL TO ADJUST to what you are doing. if you're in there raising with any marginal hand when you have position and they just...

Re: HU Question

I'm no expert, but I do enjoy head's up (especially limit.)

Question #1: Mike Carro is a big advocate of the idea that usually the straightforward play, is the best, especially vs a non-expert....

Re: A Small Flush in the Big Blind

I disagree. I think villain should've bet the river. First of all, the A /images/graemlins/heart.gif is on board, so it is not popping on the river. So that leaves the T /images/graemlins/heart.gif Q...

Re: Am I supposed to flat call this river?

i'm thinking QQ too. he's not stupid, but he opened his mouth for a reason. probably figured this line would get more out of you on the river. hopefully it did cause you've got this.

at 4 bets on...

Re: 22 in SB (What needs to happen?)

I agree with both of you. I have generally been letting go of 66-22 in the small blind to a raise, unless it looks like a blatant steal, in which case I will make it 3 bets with a 66. With 77 I will...

22 in SB (What needs to happen?)

Okay let's say we have 22 in the SB, everyone folds to MP2 who raises, everyone folds to SB, and let's also assume the BB will fold.

In a $5/$10 game there would be $17 in the pot, $8 to call, pot...

Solid Player Over-Defends

The table is generally loose and aggressive, but this time it folded around (strange.) Anyway, the SB Villain is a solid player, getting the money in with AK and then seeing the river. The only catch...

Blind Stealing UTG

Yes, it's time to dust this timeless classic off, and pull it from the playbook. As a tribute to Stu Ungar, let us do as he did. When you are UTG in a full 10-handed ring game, raise any time you are...

Take a pill. Deranged made a great advertising play here for the whole table's benefit. And he's not going to do it again, at least not too frequently..isn't that right D?

Re: A Lot of Fun Until Your Friends Find Out...

I think that is a fine and dandy idea. KT could be your "maniac" hand. Just cap the action on every street, no matter what hits the board and see what happens! Although, I might limit it to KTs, just...

QQ couldn\'t pull the trigger

$1/$2 NL Online (9-handed)

Hero is MP with $140 (bought in $200, was up to $340 but suffered a bad beat)

Villain is UTG+1 with $128. He is a trappy player who likes to call any reasonable raise...

Re: $3/$6 am I way off base here???

my take on the hand is that the guy is an idiot who bought in for $50 and he doesn't have anything but two big cards. i think he was re-raising on the flop just trying to get away with the pot. i...

Interesting. The first poster was the only one who shared my philosophy. In this hand, you are definitely not afraid you are beaten. If he has 56 then you are going to lose a lot of money unless you...
