Re: A6s whilst drawing
Hi Rob,
When you put some of your outs in other peoples hand you have to adjust the number of unseen cards as well.

Re: Question about the KJ-hand in Ed\'s article.
In the text it says even if the opponent only bluffs 5 percent of the times you should call down. On the river the pot is laying us 14:1 on a 19:1 shot so calling the river is -EV.
Since Ed makes...

Re: Blind defense becomes psychogical battle
What I was trying to say was that if a ten improved your hand then you were already ahead of any hand that he would consider folding on the river. In that sense a ten is not much of a scare card.

Re: KJo posting for info/reasoning for my buddy
Maybe some hard numbers will convince him.
KJo has a little less than 30 percent equity heads up against your range of hands.
32s has a little less than 30 percent equity heads up against AA.

Re: AKo turn decision
Clarkmeister had an interesting post in a very similar hand where he suggested raising the turn in order to get it heads up against a possible draw.

If not, then you're probably better served with textbooks that are used in...

As to exceptions the general principle is also pretty obvious:
If your gain on the present street is less than you give up on later streets.
I think the 3 most common examples are

Re: Big Slick from SB
The flop bet is very unlikely to clean up any of your overcard outs so I would just check. The river seems like an easy fold.

Re: Good Fold?
Did you consider calling the flop raise with the intention of raising a non-club turn card? From a pot-equity point of view this line makes more sense to me.

I think your line would be fine if SB had cold called preflop. In this hand all you have left are crying calls.

Re: Gutshot Draw: I\'m Getting Confused & Lost
You have much more than just a gutshot. Your two overcards will often be good so your hand is at least worth 7 outs and you have excellent position.
With 7 bets in the pot folding is a mistake,...

I think he's much more likely to have a K than anything else.

Just call him down. Your effective odds are a little better than 4.5:1 which is enough against an unknown. It's quite possible that he raised because he picked up a flush draw.
Since you have...
