Re: A Proposal

Excellent idea. Assuming that this idea has takers. Let's try to keep the subject line of these threads somewhat consistent. For example, "Book Discussion: (descriptive stuff goes here)". That way...

Re: Move to $1/2 level ?

I posted this a short-time ago, but I think many of us have had experience similar to yours. Careful analysis of your play might help you figure out how much of it is you and how much of your results...

Re: On the fly thinking -- out counting exercise

Fun thread!

A couple of observations:

1. In counting the outs, it is not necessarily the number that you come up with, but how you come up with them. I can’t really tell if my 7.5 outs are...

Re: Myers-Briggs type for a successful poker player?

[ QUOTE ]
The Myers-Briggs is a quick and dirty test that does not measure much of anything. It was created in Isabel Myers' head and normed on no one. It's junk gutter social science.

Re: 6max AA hand play along

Call. And, hope that BB calls or raises with his PP, weak Ace, or broadway cards. Pray that BB is not playing something like 76s!! /images/graemlins/grin.gif Can you put villian on a range of hands...

2/4 full is the easiest to beat of the small stakes imo.

Got to agree with this - I've played 0.5/1 to 5/10 over the last few months and most of this was spent...

Re: Hmm... I\'m a little lost on this river...

[ QUOTE ]
IMO check calling kinda sucks here. Make him pay to showdown his weak A. He's only rasing a high or nut spade if he's remotely sane.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm really ambivalent about this...

Re: Should I play 6-max?

This thread is now especially important to those thinking of switching to 6-max. Is it just me or did others notice that 1/2 6-max at Party has gotten juicier than ever. Must be that the tighties who...

Re: Hmm... I\'m a little lost on this river...

Ugh! Nasty river.

I want to show this hand down. If I'm willing to show down for 2 BBs, I bet. If not, check/call. I check/call here.

Re: Paying Attention

I think it is important to distinguish between playing "well enough" to win the money versus playing to learn and absorb as much information as is possible at the poker table.

Multi-tabling...

Re: Maybe I need some help

hi Kiemo,
Your experiences are very similar to mine. Not long ago I was "crushing" .5/1 full-ring and 6-max (about 30k hands too). I then made my 2nd foray into 1/2 6-max (the 1st was profitable but...

Re: Hand reading exercise and river action

I usually don't do these but I'll give it a shot.

UTG+1 shows some interesting aggression on flop. If he's flopped a set, say 66 or 55, I see no reason for him to slow down after the turn....

Re: This is an unquestionable \'dont stop raisin\' hand, right?

I find that whenever a hand like this occurs, reads are VERY important. Without reads, I would guess that if you approached these kinds of hands(that don't really happen that many times in 1 session)...

Re: New to limit, Advice Needed

You're killing the game! Don't take this the wrong way. But, you're probably running well too.

Move up if you're ready. Second, thought. Don't move up! Stay away from 1/2 and 2/4!! I don't want...

Re: Tons of players limping with good hands

Agree. VERY frustrating when some people limp with their big hands and 3 bet and/or cap small pairs.

For a SMALL number of players that I have a lot of hands with, this does exactly what Dave...

I think your value bet is fine. Villian's busted flush draw was lucky enough to draw out on you. What can you do?

Hands like this one just blow. If you fold the turn, people will call you weak. If you call the turn, they say you're a calling station. If you raise the turn, they call you...
