I would check/call river to save a bet with the scare card on the river. My guess is he had a open ended str draw with a couple of suited pocket cards.

Raise Preflop--you have the nuts with clubs, and an Ace with a decent kicker. Might eliminate a couple of players behind you who thought about limping with rags.

Fast and Furious. 6max is what I have been playing for about 2 months now. You can open up your playable hands a little more. But you must be more aggressive most of the time. Blinds come quicker....

I am not worried about an 8 but maybe a King in someones hand. Too many players will play any face card. Great flop for a King. If you want to save a bet--check/call or go for value--bet/call

I always figure if I don't lose a lot with a set I must have played it wrong. Raise and realize his calling all the way to the river is why he lost it all later. He sucks.

My guess is he hit 2 pair. SSH says its ok to pay off on the river sometimes. Don't freak out over strange bets. Your kicker is is probably not the issue.

I bet the flop. Loose players that call with just Ax will probably not fold to the c/r. They are in for 1, why not 2 bets. And for that matter, even if you do bet, then they are only in for 1 bet...
