Re: HU: is it even worth betting out?

If your opponent frequently bluffs here you should check. Since you put him on a weak Q betting is correct since he will probably call you.

Re: what does \"declare\" mean

It means you are playing high-low split. During the declare each player decides whether he is playing for high, low, or both halves of the pot. The declaration is either sequential (one at a time...

Re: ck-raised the Short Stacks.. yes/no?

I play this hand from all positions. I would have bet this flop with an overpair, straight draw and big flush draw. As it is there is so little money left you can't fold on the turn, so you might...

Hi roundtree
I do agree that the placing of you and the rock do have a large affect on the entire table.

I am not a stud player by any means so this might be the issues as to why I...

Re: Thoughts on Line?

I would play this hand preflop, especially in position as you are. Bet on the flop is fine. No need to bet the full pot on the turn as if you had a full house you wouldn't be worrying about giving...

Re: Flop the nut flush opp. card face up.

I would raise a lot on the turn, when you have the best hand and are likely to be called.

Re: Having position: could it be mutually beneficial to swap places?

Was away for a while, but I wanted to post my thoughts on answering the question.

I really don't want to discuss here whether I could play 50% of hands profitably in that poker game; I don't know...

I believe your point was already presupposed by RoundTower. I was giving an example of how it can be -EV. I also dont see how a good(TAG) player sitting to your left is ever going to be...

Re: Having position: could it be mutually beneficial to swap places?

If he has the choice between two empty seats, one to my left and one to my right, he should choose to sit on my left. This is accepted poker wisdom and I believe it is true here -- he will be in...

Having position: could it be mutually beneficial to swap places?

I've never seen this discussed before, but a situation arose a few nights ago where I started thinking about it.

I am a loose player, seeing maybe 50% of flops often for a raise, especially in...

Re: PLO postflop newb questions.

Also, Ciaffone's book (like most poker books) is probably meant for higher stakes games where people don't make 1/3 pot bets (or smaller) on the flop. He's probably not even considering...

Re: PLO postflop newb questions.

Hi ocelot,
It wouldn't be very helpful to answer "It depends". Of course it depends, and of course you should play the hand one way in some situations and a different way in another. I won't ask...

I have read some of your pot-limit omaha posts, so I assume you are mostly interested in the half pot limit game, although I could be wrong. I played this game a lot when it came...

Re: Middle set plus top pair...do you play this like top set?

You can't discount it completely. If your opponent puts in the third or the fourth raise you have to think he probably doesn't have bottom set.

Re: lead me not into river temptation

You have a nice draw on the flop and are in good shape against a set. I think you played it perfectly on all streets.
