Thoughts on Line?

Should I have just checked the turn? Seems worth it to try and buy it. River seems like a clear fold... thoughts?

Re: Thoughts on line taken?

Raising the flop does nothing. There are 4.5 big bets in the pot, raising here does not protect. And you get more value out of raising the turn since this flop hit most 3-betting preflop hands.

Re: Thoughts on line taken?

I disagree with the flop - I think the check is fine, as you aren't pricing his draw out here. However, if it doesnt hit on the turn you can make chasing incorrect.

The river I'm not sure on. I...

Obviously not folding... considering raising.

How do you play the river?

Villain has only been at the table for 20 hands, but has seemed passive over that time.

Re: Donkey Line?

Agreed. My aggression on the river is low - been looking for missed value opportunities and got carried away on this hand.

Re: Donkey Line?

Would you lay down on the turn here? With two overs and a gutshot, you have 10 outs. The tens are probably dirty, but not sure how much to downgrade them.

Re: Donkey Line?

The title of the post was "donkey line". Last time I checked, that means I think I misplayed the hand rather severely.

Therefore his post contributed no possible information. He could have said...

Good for him. That doesn't change the fact that his post is a waste of space and idiotic. Does his bankroll somehow qualify him to make ridiculous posts?

Re: Thoughts on the turn?

Thanks /images/graemlins/smile.gif I have a tendency to be too passive on the turn, so trying to see where I am missing 3-bets (situations like this).

Thoughts on the turn?

CO has seen all 12 flops he's been at the table, raising twice. Not very aggressive. MP has sees 60%, and likes to make tricky raises postflop. He will showdown anytime he has top pair.

Re: Donkey Line?

Very helpful. I see how the line you are suggesting is much better, and will work to implement your strategy going forward. Thank you for the constructive post.

No offense, but you are a jopke.

Donkey Line?

Villain is a LAG preflop and very aggressive on the turn. He shows down a ton of hands and bluffs aggressively.

Was this an awful line?

Standard Line?

Villain is loose/passive, but likes raising on the turn. Shows down very frequently. Around 33 vpip, 4 pfr. Folds to steal around 40%. SB folds to steal 85%.

Still adjusting to short handed and...

Moving to short handed

I dont have a strong read on the player, but the table in general shows down hands like A high frequently. It seems fairly loose/passive preflop, then a little manic on the flop.

Thoughts on the...

Re: A new theory on Negraneau challenge matches

His opinion is that he is winning at the big game. He knows the numbers involved, so he is either incapable of doing simple math, correct that he is winning, or lying.

Re: A new theory on Negraneau challenge matches

In my opinion, this is the most understandable and, for the most part, reasonable argument you have made. I believe there is some factual support that he had established himself as a successful lower...
