Re: Mistaken muck returned by dealer

If you were in the one seat and your opponent was in the 10 seat, this makes a little sense.

Re: This is a very important post for me...

I think this sounds like a terrible idea. If you don't like your living arrangement, change it. Getting back into college after taking time off is tougher than you might think.

Re: All time money list.

These lists are a waste of time, because they don't deduct the buy-ins for all the tournaments (nor could they, because no one knows who is buying in for what). To give one example, Negreanu must...

Re: Poker on the resume...

I wouldn't list interests, period. Enough people post on these forums about problems telling their family they play poker. You're going to highlight poker playing to a total stranger seeking to...

Re: It\'s 20 bucks....

Again, Greyhound is $30 round trip, and you get $17-20 back from the casino when you arrive. The tickets are a 4-day open return (i.e., you can go back on any bus within 4 days of your arrival). ...

Re: trains from nyc to ac

Amtrak to Philly is more like $110 round trip. You can take NJT/Septa to Philly, but that will make the trip to AC more like 4-5 hrs.

Re: trains from nyc to ac

You'd have to take a train to Philly and then a train from Philly to AC on NJ transit. It would take longer and cost more than a bus ride.

The fastest means of public transportation from NYC to...

Re: vegas weather in january/february

I got real lucky in early February one year. It was in the 80s every day.

I did some weather research, and I think it was late Jan/early Feb 2003. Those were record hot days.

Re: AC Limit game suggestions?

I reload if I lose a large chunk of my stack. My point is that a 15BB buyin will cover any action you can expect to see in the course of a hand.

Re: AC Limit game suggestions?

I have been playing limit hold'em for 7 years (now at 20-40) and have never gone all in.

Re: AC Limit game suggestions?

You've got to be comfortable losing 50BB at whatever limit you play. If you want 10-20 or higher, you'll need to go to the Taj or Borgata. I buy into a 10-20 game with $300.

Re: What\'s the deal with 20/40??

Aggressive games are tougher than passive games. I've played in both 10-20 and 20-40 games, and in my opinion, people wrongly equate loose aggressive play with soft games. Loose passive games are...

Re: 40/80 JJJ. Can I fold? Please?

Your hand only has to be good one time out of eight to make calling this down +EV. Seems like an easy call to me. He could have 88, AJs, AKd, AQd, KQd, or even 10d-9d.

Re: 5/10 games in AC?

[ QUOTE ]
I think sitting with $250 is fine in those games. You will find plenty of horrible play, anyone with a decent amount of discipline should be able to beat that game.

Re: 20/40 @ the Borg

I'd just release this on the flop. Between the raiser and the caller, someone has you beat. Since you decided to check-raise, you've got to follow through with a bet on the turn.

Re: Time pots

I will never participate in the time pots in the 20-40 game. In my experience they almost always kill the action. I will always post my own time. If a couple other people also start refusing to...

Re: AC Article

This AC article is a total embarrassment. Mason, Ed, or whoever should have run it by some regular AC posters (e.g., Jeffage,) or even in irregular poster such as myself. The writer obviously just...

Re: 10/20 at the Taj

10-20 isn't small stakes. You didn't post the suits. I think raising with A3o is really bad, and I assume you had A3o.

When it is three-bet and called by the big blind preflop, you are in big...

Re: 20/40 vs 10/20 in AC

The 20-40 game is not softer. It is beatable, but there are more better players at 20-40 than 10-20. People talk about the 2-chip 4-chip structure generating more action, but there are so many...

Re: Worst decision ever?

Not even close to worst decision ever. Cards never leave my hand until I have a pot. Leave the showmanship to others.

Re: Was this collusion and what should I have done about it?

It could just be softplaying. Dad knows that son wouldn't three-bet w/o the nuts and mucks. Just ask to see the mucked hand; unless it was total crap, there isn't necessarily anything improper...

Re: Hold\'em for Advanced Players Question

Both HPFAP and SSHE are for limit games. If I were playing no limit, I'd go with Theory of Poker and Harrington on Hold'em vol. 1.

Re: Borgata other than Hold Em\' ?

The only Omaha 8/B I've seen is 80-160. They generally have one table of 15-30-45 stud, and I think they sometimes spread one table of 10-20-30 stud. But if you are looking for stud, go to the Taj.

Re: Time charge question

In AC, the answer is yes if there is a list for the game. Even people who sit down shortly after the dealer have to pay. If there is no list, sometimes you can tell the floor that you won't start...
