Re: PP 15/30 88, looking for opinions

I would say there is a 60% plus chance you are beat here.

You need to ask what the co would cold call three bets with and raise the turn with.

I think you can eliminate AA and KK - I find it...

Re: REVIEW: Ed Miller\'s new book \"Small Stakes Hold\'Em\" (first 82 pages)

I also generally agree that Ed's book pushes a lot of thin edges - I went from following Lee Jones to Ed's advice and it really hurt my bank roll. I am not questioning the fact that Ed's book is...

Re: is 40% see the flop tight or loose?

I think this count the blinds - so it means 4 to a flop with blinds - seems average to tight - you can find tables with 50 to 60 seeing the flop at other sites.

Re: Turn Raises -- How do you handle them?

I have called down my fair share of raises and check raises on the turn and have seen about 1% or less of these be bluffs. In fact, I cant remeber the last time it was a bluff with a smallish pot.

Re: Turn Raises -- How do you handle them?

I think you need to specify what limit you are playing - again at 3/6 I think it might be +EV to fold every time except when you have a strong draw.

I would love to here others thoughts

How does the thing work while you are playing?

Re: Turn Raises -- How do you handle them?

I am having the same set of questions and issues.

I think its a major leak to just go into call and check mode. I know most posters will say you need to call it down.

1)It depends on the size...

Taj 5/10 vs Borgata 6/12

Anyone who plays in both of these notice a difference.

I found the Taj games way looser. Is this usually the case on the weekends. Or was it just variance in tables.

If the wait were not an...

Re: Going Pro in Atlantic City

I would want to factor in cost of living -

You can get a much nicer place in Philly than in NYC.

The upside to NYC is that you can get plenty of experience against good players without leaving...

Re: Where have all the loose games gone?

I would think tables would be tighter after summer is over - many people take vacation in August both in U.S. and Europe - but does not seem to be the case -

I do find 3/6 tigher than 2/4

Re: 3/6 vs 5/10

I think the players are much better - I should say the games are much tighter

But like the first poster said it depends - I am sure on a weekend night you could find a loose table but most of...

Bleeding after reading new low limit book

I know the general consensus was that Mason's new low limit book was really helpful but I have been bleeding money like crazy since I read it.

I think this may just be a bad run of cards but am...

Re: THE BORGATA

If you are going to play 10/20 or 20/40 - you can play at either Taj or Borgata.

If you play 8 hours on the weekend the Borgata will give you a room for 149 or 159. I think the comps are better at...

Big Problem Monopoly

The biggest problem with FW is that they have a monopoly on poker for the Boston/CT area and no incentive to improve service.

1)The dealers are the slowest.

2)The floor does little to control...

Re: Atlantic City

I would suggest doing a search - there are a lot of posts on this - but briefly -

1)Taj - has the largest poker room and (I think) widest game selection and shortest wait time.
The 2-4 is very...

15/30 Party Multi-Tabling

Many people are posting that the 15/30 at party is very beatable.

What effect does it have that many people might be playing multi-tables. Are there enough fish playing so that this balances out...

Re: Foxwoods July 25-27 (Sun-Tues)

I found that the quality of the 5/10 game can change a fair amount. The thing that sucks is that they play a must move format and you can end up getting moved from your juicy table.

Sunday with...

Re: Well I\'m now calling it quits from the ring

I know this wont sound logical but I would try playing at a higher limit. 2/4 is no foldem - true people will play crap at higher levels but it wont be as frequent and the schooling effect wont be as...

Re: $60k in 60 days -- Days 40 & 41

I find that poker screws up my sleep because of the adrenaline that gets pumping from playing.

Let's face it - its a powerful rush - and trying to go to sleep right...
