Re: merits and faults of the blocking bet

FslexcDuck, I like your reasoning a lot, there definately are a lot of situations in which you don't know exactly where you stand, and where a bet can define the hand of your opponent substantially....

Re: Anyone like this? PF 3bet w/ AK.

I generally agree with that you have to bet more, but...

there is something that always bothers me in these situations. That is, they KNOW they've already reraised me twice! And they also realize...

I like the red ink for hearts and diamonds.

The red ink is nice, but it still needs more cowbell.

Re: NL 5/10...Folding Set And It\'s Not Close

My first inclination is that it IS close as well. I'll grant you that given your experience against this opponent you thought it was a clear fold. But you don't provide nearly enough information on...

Re: is there a simple explanation?

Hm, somehow this question doesn't seem so hard to understand, yet I think it belongs in the psychology forum.

Is this a correct translation of your question?:

"How come I often play worse than...

Re: Question Regarding 3rd street

My guess with this hand is that I would limp in after several callers, keep the pot relatively small compared to the SB precisely because no one is folding. I guess I would do this also if my cards...

Question Regarding 3rd street

If three people had already limped into the pot, would you still raise?

And if the A was suited?

Re: QQ out of position against strong aggresive player 6max Party 2-4

i don't think your preflop QQ call here is that wrong. you might do it to regain the initiative and to allow yourself to reraise with a wider range of hands later in the game (to isolate perhaps).

Re: SMALL POTS!

i'm not sure, but I think you're getting something confused.

The small pot advice is something this is applicable to tournaments more than ringgames, is my experience. Where you want to win/steal...

i'm a hold'm player just learning 7stud. I post not to advice you but the other way around

With my very limited 7stud knowledge I like the 4th street check to keep the pot small (EDIT: Only if...

To be quite honoust, I find it easier to believe that the magazine printed a wrong quote than that Luske made a mistake this stupid.

Re: Question re: Dinner with Dan and Bill

[ QUOTE ]
Would you always fold top pair against a bettor when a third suited card came? If not, then by betting the full pot, you may be forcing a flush-draw to INCORRECTLY fold given the IMPLIED...

Re: Question re: Dinner with Dan and Bill

I like your take on this Cero. Recently i've been noticing that I haven't been making the money I should be on the flushdraw when I play it in a straightforward manner. Simply because the flushcard...

Re: QQ fold preflop

good analysis. This hand was online, so the cards were as well hidden as they could be, discounting a pattern map here and there.

The choice between calling or folding the QQ to me is tipped...

Re: How can I stop these uncomfortable river situations...

I like the turn check, I think a bet makes you WAY too vulnerable to a raise. I would probably check/raise the turn rather than check/call. But considering you checkcalled I don't think you can just...

Re: QQ fold preflop

I dunno. I think that SB would only be doing this with AK AA or KK. AK because he might read UTG for a small pocketpair and the BB for anyting AJ and higher.

I think BB needs a lot more than just...

Re: QQ fold preflop

I've changed the post, I had forgotten that important stacksize information.

I hadn't seen a great many hands. But for the past half hour no limp reraises at all. No preflop reraises either.

QQ fold preflop

Something I saw go down recently. Tight game 5/10 NL Full Ring.

UTG (a recenably tight postflop player, but doesn't liberally call preflop raises) limps UTG. Folded to the SB who completes (SB...

Re: Jacks UTG?

If you are asking questions such as how to play JJ up front, you are probably not good enough to navigate yourself throught the marginal situations you place yourself in by raising JJ up front.

Good thing you bet. I'd have leaned more to folding preflop myself! But I like the line you took. Although I'd lean more towards pushing the flop...

Re: Jacks UTG?

Apart from the excuse of course that you will be playing a marginal hand, in a big pot, out of position, against someone who has shown great strength by calling your preflop raise.

But other than...

Let me first of all say that you are right, of course if you check through your opponent will in theory make money.

However, the situation is not that simple. It depends on your opponents...
