Good Push? - AJo

This is from a 5/1 on Party. UTG was fairly loose, so his limp could be any two broadway, pair or even something like K9o. Ihad about 6BB here - is AJo good enough to push in CO?

Party Poker...

Re: Hrrm, KQo hand. And KJo.

I don't understand your concern with hand 1. Your K and Q outs are likely to be clean on the flop, so the call is good.

Re: your read vs. pot odds

2 Points

1) You actually have 5 outs, you could get trips if your bottom pair gets a third card, so 10:1 is enough.

2) Your second question is tougher. I never played .02/.04, and I don't...

Re: I hate getting CR\'ed on the river

If you are seen as an agressive player, the BB could have decided to c/r with Jx. Of he could have a legitimate str8 or flush. A read here would really help. If he is the kind of player that c/r on...

2 Accounts from same address on Party?

Hello,
I have been playing on Party Poker for about a year. My wife has watched me play and would like to sign up as well. Will Party allow us to do this - that is, have 2 accounts from the same...

Re: Question about downswings.

I had a 160bb downswing over 1450 hands at .5/1 full table at party. I don't know if your winrate will change that much. Over the previous 5500 hands I was winning 7bb/100 - that got cut down to a...

Re: Anyway I can protect this hand ?

I'm guessing from your tone that you lost but you played fine. 2pr is a good hand and you should just bet it for value the whole way here. Imagine you had an AK - you would be that the whole way -...

Re: How many mistakes did I make?

I agree with what others have said. One other point - you should be raising about 8-10% of your hands. If you do this, folks won't autmatically put you on AA every time you raise, so no worries...

Re: Is this a clear value bet?

I'd bet the river, unless he is tight and passive postflop, then I would check/call and not be surprised by an Ax

Re: KQo Hand 3. Top Pair meets River Flush Card

This seems fine. Against a total unknown I will call the raise, otherwise go by read.

Re: KQo Hand 2. Would You Fold This River?

Call, even some passive players will do this with any pair at all. Without a read, against a single LP player, you might be good 20% of the time - enough to call here.

Re: KQo A Big Loser. Hand 1.

I think these replies show that this is a marginal situation either way. Clearly you should call the flop 3-bet. If you call down from the turn, then you are paying 2 bb to win 8bb. So, if you have a...

Re: A Boat on the Rake.

This does happen from time to time. In this case I would call. An A is the most likely holding for the villan. I don't think a K would raise on the river, and if you re-raise there is some chance a K...

Re: Is it cool to check aces in the bb?

you're not worried about giving them 16+:1 on the flop? Those trash calls they're so used to making don't look so bad when you're getting that kind of price.

Oops, Sorry Gumpzilla

Sorry, It was gumpzilla who made the little drawing of the $ equity vs. chip equity for a player who is better than their opponent heads up. Just want to give credit where it is due.

Shadow + Marv = ? or: What is the source of betterness?

Hello,
I have been following this thread over the past few days. If I understand everything, Marv has showen that if both players push every turn, then their % equity =% chips. Shadow has pointed...

Re: LAG or genius?

I am no wizard at 1/2, but my guess is that this is a pretty risky plan. I think that given how passive he has be on the other flops, betting out on the scary flop is a sign of strenght. I think you...

Difference between .5/1 and 1/2 (not what you think)

Hello,
I was looking at the part of poker tracker where it lists all of the different hands and their stats (AA,AKs, AKo etc) and I got to wonder how these differ between levels.

Everyone seems...

Re: AK flops two pair, then the board turns dangerous

I would call this and check call the river if unimproved. There are a lot of worse 2-pair that could reasonably be hanging around here - AJ, AT, KJ, KT, JT and they might play it exactly like here....

AKo Party 1/2

Hello,
I recently moved up to 1/2 and have had pretty much broke even over 3900 hands. I know that folks describe it as "weak tight" but I have seen nothing to indicate the "weak" part. This is...

Durron,
I don't follow this exactly. I figured that the button was not desperate to call pre-flop, so he must have had something when he called. He could have a PP or KQ or similar cards, but...
