I think train almost definitely, taking cabs and getting in and out of airports is generally a huge pain. only way it is close I think is if you're renting a car upon arrival.

I have really bad hearing from years of playing gigs with loud drummers, horn players etc. in my experiences playing in bars is the worst for your hearing, big clubs that have a nice sound system...

I think everyone sort of has their own definitions of indie stuff. growing up in nc, the bands I think of are all the merge stuff like archers of loaf, polvo, superchunk, portastatic etc.

out of position this is my standard play (raise/reraise pf, bet flop, check raise turn allin). I think it's a very good play, the one problem being that I rarely do this without TPTK or better.

yes I like the river raise and like the amount. I think I would make it a little more there (~500) but whatever, probably doesn't matter much IMO.
