Re: Going for 1st

[ QUOTE ]
Just wow...

You do know there is someone with 970 chips right?

Re: Getting frustrated with the money I make

[ QUOTE ]
I seem to be a subsistance poker player. Every month I make my profit and it goes on rent, bills, car etc. I don't seem to be getting ahead. I'm not able to move up in money level and so...

Re: I don\'t get it. WTF could I possibly doing so wrong?

[ QUOTE ]
Okay, thanks for the advice. There's no reason to be sorry, Curtains. I'm trying to fix leaks, not deny that they are real.

So, the difference in chips is likely hurting me. Yes, I...

Re: Teaching a friend Hold\'em 101 & Basic SnG Strategy from scratch.

Hold em poker by sklansky has all of that, IIRC. HPFAP is wayyyy too advanced for him and the lines suggested aren't even close to applicable. You can find all of those figures online anyway.

Re: Teaching a friend Hold\'em 101 & Basic SnG Strategy from scratch.

It's almost pointless to have him read HPFAP when hes learning to play NL sngs. Theory of poker is much more useful and relevant to what he'll be playing. Include Tournament Poker for adv. players...

Re: HU with Unarmed, a hand to discuss

I won't reveal my top-secret "how to pwn unarmed HU" strategy, but I'd play the turn and river the same way. The other 2 streets are a different story.

Re: hours put in each week

[ QUOTE ]
Just wondering why so many of the good players on here who are making 20-100 dollars an hour only work around 20-30 hours a week.
Thanks

Re: Curtains 2: Ever cautious with AA

[ QUOTE ]
I disagree. I think Curtain's isn't afraid of seeing a turn card here in an attempt to extract more value on the turn than on the flop. Overs or mid-pocket pairs such as 99/TT are far...

Re: More curtains in the blinds

[ QUOTE ]
Why? Your hand can get you in trouble (like it did) and you're out of position to both a bad player and a good player. Is it like ripping up money because you can play so well postflop, or...

I would have pushed AK here for sure if thats what you are asking. Also I would have pushed AQ to a smaller raise. A 400 chip raise often tells me they have a pretty good hand...

Re: How are people this retarted?

No, it's not the right play. The EV derived from this play is from your opponents folding all but the best hands. They aren't going to fold their good hands, so it becomes a losing play.
