Re: Joe\'s All-In On The River

How can you say Awada's play was one of the worst plays you've ever seen when, in the same broadcast, a guy calls 25% of his chips with 8-8 and then folds to a pot-sized bet when an 8 doesn't come on...

Re: Mike Sexton\'s article in the new Carplayer is interesting.

Impossible to read it without hearing him speaking it in his mutant accent.

[ QUOTE ]
The fault of most tournament players is that they play too tight.

Re: hometown newspaper article on daniel n

[ QUOTE ]
He'll try the vitamins, as long as they contain no caffeine. He also won't drink -- Molson Dry is his preferred beverage -- the night before he plays.

Tonight -- rather this morning,...

Re: Funniest moments in WSOP, WPT, Celeb Showdown, etc...

In the 2003 WSOP when Chris Moneymaker didn't know it was his turn to act. Just a funny tension-breaking moment.

Re: \"Hand For review, made me feel weak tight\"

I would think it's a monster - sounds like an overpair to me. I would lay it down too. The only hands you're really ahead of are non-club AK and AQ.

Re: 200 dollar buy in tournament in Tunica

OK, this has been bothering me since I read it yesterday, esp. since this is a big problem in my game currently - telling bluffs from actual plays, and reacting appropriately.

So, my question is,...

Re: What Poker gifts did you get for Christmas?

I got "Big Deal" by Anthony Holden. Good book, but man was he not a very good player (he felt like he was a more consistent winner at blackjack).

Although to be fair 1988 was a long time ago in...

Re: Who is this guy I saw on Craigslist?

Thanks for the fixed link.

Here's the one guess that I had - Norman Chad? Probably not 400 lbs., but I noticed that the ad didn't say he was a champion at the wsop, just a champion who's promoting...

Who is this guy I saw on Craigslist?

Looking for a new job on Craigslist (hate my %&*$# boss) when I came across this interesting posting:

You find the craziest things on Craigslist...

Re: Biggest Guaranteed Tourneys?

This is the most transparent astroturf attempt I've ever seen. Kudos looseasagoose and bigjack! You made my Friday.

Re: hand from a Foxwoods Act III tournament

Disclaimer: I'd like to know how far away you are from qualifying, and whether you had this other player covered.

That being said, I would lay this down. Maybe I get away from middle pairs too...

Re: Steal blinds vs. Induce call?

Wait, who is the idiot here?

Hero was caught stealing (twice), so he's not likely to get any pre-flop respect.

After the flop:

UTG has pocket 10s, the flop were all undercards, seems to me...

Re: JTs button

I would fold there too. If it's a bluff, it's a nice bluff. What can you do?

Re: Aw Crap!!...I did it again

I agree that I would've raised slightly more with this hand (like 800), but otherwise I thought you played it fine.

If your read on the loose limper is correct, I would never fold this hand.

Re: Another Stars turbo rebuy big-blind hand

I would fold here too. At least one of those hands has you beat, probably. Save your big stand for later.

Should I be folding these hands pre-flop?

Hi All:

Still trying to figure out what I'm doing in these MP online tournaments. I think the blind structure should make me play stuff I wouldn't play in a ring game, but I'm naturally a very...

Re: Problems with UB?

Well, got most of the way through the $5 aruba super-satellite tonight but now it's frozen with 75 or so players. I guess I'd be more upset if I wasn't the short stack at the table. Still, though,...

Re: Hand for discussion

Maybe I'm missing something, but if the blind is T600, and you only have 2x the big blind at this point, what choice do you have? I would do exactly the same thing.

Problems with UB?

I just tried to get into two different tournaments on UltimateBet, and the tournaments never went off - we were never seated at our table to start with.

I don't play much, and although I did a...
