Re: How much can you win?
I too started with a winning blackjack record (card counter, Hi-Opt I system). That game has obviously dried up. I switched to poker about 2.5 years ago. Lost initial bankroll of $200. Got the...

NL 6 max stats
for the seasoned NL 6-max table players, what are your typical VIP/PFR numbers for party 100-NL, 200-NL games?
I've played a lot of limit 6-max (mostly 5/10), and NL STT's but am just getting...

TP/no kicker/flush draw
Please advise. The UTG raise is a bit aggro for me. I mistakingly thought there were only 4 players, instead of 5. No reads, just sat down.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $100 (6 max, 5 handed)...

Re: A2s on the bubble and re-raised . . .
First of all, this is not "the bubble". The bubble is 4-handed, when everyone is trying to make the money.
Second, you have 3200+ in the pot, and about 1400 to call.
If he will make this play with...

Re: Stealing on the bubble w/big chip lead
I think the answer to this question is a no-brainer.
The much more interesting question is: if you're one of the short stacks and the big stack is bullying like this, what hands are you willing to...

Re: Surefire moneymaking scheme
I'm an MD. My best poker buddy is one as well. We play online in our spare time and have been progressing through the levels, but we don't have a lot of time to devote to it. We both play primarily...

Re: Somewhat to new to regular play at 10+1 SG
Two things:
1. An ROI > ~20 is great for a beginner at this level (10+1).
2. Your ROI will fluctuate greatly for the first 500+ games. So don't overanalyze your limited data. Just keep collecting...

Re: 100+9 SnG BR
For what it's worth, I've played about 1100 109's, all multitabling. My worst downswing has been in the 1800-2000 range. I would feel pretty comfortable with a 4000 bankroll,
BUT...

Re: Thoughts on this hand?
Easy lay down for me. I think it's at least 50/50 that you lose here to button who could easily have a set or a better overpair. An overpair is not a great hand to a flop seen by so many players and...

Re: Normal Losing Streaks
OK here are some hard numbers.
I've done about 1000 100+9 Party STTs, with reasonable success (ITM 39.5 ROI 19.7)
Twice in that time I had downswings of almost $2000.
Does that help?

Re: ITM lowest stack 55 hand
Here is what you have to ask yourself with this bet:
If he pushes me all in would I feel compelled to call (i.e. too good a hand to lay down)?
and
Would I be happy to just steal the blind (i.e....

Re: Bad beat or bad play?
I think this is mostly bad luck but I would favor checking (and then calling) on the river. You may induce a bluff if you are against a diamond draw that will fold to your bet otherwise. But if...
