[ QUOTE ]
When companies speak of monitoring, it is allmost 100% internet usage via a proxy and email monitoring. I doubt your company would go as far as monitoring the applications you install and...

Find out what the actual corporate policy is, both on installing "non-approved" software and on gambling using corporate assets.
As the person who has to write and/or approve these policies for my...

Calculating deals in satellites
I went up to Commerce the last couple of days to get some satellite practice. I realized that I very little idea how to calculate a fair deal in a winner-take-all sat.
Here are two that came up:...

Re: Jacks
Looks good to me. If it were heads-up, I'd be inclined to occasionally play on (if the player is capable of making a move without an ace), but the 3rd player makes the decision easy.

Re: J9s from BB misplayed
Why is betting the flop better than check-calling in this spot? Chances of winning immediately are nearly nil in this 5-way pot. With no pre-flop raise you don't know where the aggression (if any)...

Re: The Flop
I dump it now. Your draw isn't to the nuts, and TT/AJ are both possibilities. Too much chance of drawing dead for me.

Back to the flop call -- yeah, if utg+1's hand was face-up, this is an obvious call, but that wasn't the case. Reading this thread, I couldn't conceive of calling a bet bigger than 5X the pot...

This is a strange thread. Of course players in general are better as limits go up. This doesn't mean there aren't any bad...

You said you've never played a large live tournament before. What is your overall experience level in live casino play in general (tournament and/or ring)?

Re: Help with this SNG hand
I don't think there's too much you can do differently here. A slightly smaller flop bet (250 or so) would likely accomplish the same thing as 350 and save you a few chips when you are beat. Once...

Re: 1st Vegas NL tournament
1. You didn't mention the blinds at this point, but I'm guessing the pot couldn't have been more than 400 or so, making his 1000 bet a huge overbet. I fold quickly in this spot, unless it's a...

I agree with soxfan's concept here. If you "always" raise to the same amount for a given blind level, you're giving up too much of your ability to manipulate pot-size, number of opponents, etc. Of...
