Is This an Easy Fold?
NLHE Tournament tonight. $50+10 with multi-rebuys/add-ons. 400 entries. ~250 left when this hand happened. Blinds are T50 and T100. I have ~T2500.
Fairly loose, wild table preflop, though it...

Re: NLHE Situation - what would you do?
I would add A9 as well. Also 99 and TT are possible, but I think players with these hands are likely to go all-in instead of making a small raise. But yeah, the point is I am likely to be drawing...

Re: NLHE Situation - what would you do?
I admit that the situation is not ideal...but the situation isn't always going to be ideal in tournament play.
I don't think that AK & 88 is the "best scenario" of hands I could be up against,...

Re: NLHE Situation - what would you do?
Given my chip position and the blinds/antes, how often do you expect to find either of these things in the next three hands:
a) a better hand
or
b) a better situation to win a large pot
??

Re: NLHE Situation - what would you do?
I don't think I can justify calling for more than half of my stack and then folding on the flop. If I go all-in, I know that at least the two limpers will call.

Re: RESULTS
When I ran it through the simulator, I got a 41% win rate. Where did you come up with your number? By the by, all my hearts were live.

RESULTS
I meant to post these last night, but here they are.
I pushed all-in. The blinds folded. UTG and UTG+1 called. The flop was JJ3 rainbow. UTG checked, UTG+1 bet his last ~T2000 and UTG called. ...

You wrote: "His 2x BB raise looked like a teaser raise with one of the following hands, TT,JJ,QQ, or AQ."
You are an underdog against each of these hands. If these are the hands you think your...

Re: Can I call the river with aces?
The two hands I gave him on the flop were AK or KQ. I thought the possibility of KQ (or even QQ or 99) was too great to cap the flop or raise the turn. I don't think he was checking the turn to me...

Can I call the river with aces?
10-20 @ the Bike. Fairly tight & fairly aggressive player raises UTG+1. I 3-bet in MP with AA. BB calls and UTG+1 calls.
Flop KQ9 rainbow. BB checks, UTG+1 bets, I raise, BB folds, UTG+1...

NLHE Tourney @ Hollywood Park
First a funny anecdote. Two hours or so into the tournament, a hand comes up where everyone folds to the blinds. The small blind calls and the big blind checks. The flop comes 2, 4, 7 rainbow. SB...

Re: Results/Actual Hand
As others have said, I think it's a pretty easy call if you're confident that 7-8 players will see the flop. But you have to be able to get away from the hand if you flop top pair and there's a lot...

Re: 10/20 or 15/30 HE in LA?
I feel like the Commerce 9/18 game is a ripoff too. I guess they can charge a higher rake since they're the place to be. Thanks for your help with the other rooms. Maybe I will try to track down...

Re: 10/20 or 15/30 HE in LA?
These are actually the two games in town I have played. I feel like the rake is pretty bad for anything 9/18 and below...$6/hand even if there's no flop? As I said in my post, the 15/30 is a bit...

10/20 or 15/30 HE in LA?
I recently moved out to LA and left behind a good 10/20 game in New York. Trying to figure out where the best place for me to play out here is. Is 10/20 HE spread regularly anywhere? I think my...

Re: A Few Hands From Stars Tournies...Help?
In the long run, I figure I am more likely to double up with a big hand like KK by playing it like I did rather than pushing in pre-flop. My goal was to double up. Sometimes I will get called and...

Re: A Few Hands From Stars Tournies...Help?
In the first hand, I was trying to double up. That was my goal. The hand went perfectly, except that he hit the 3-outer on the end. I was really pretty low in chips and stealing the blinds, while...

Re: A Few Hands From Stars Tournies...Help?
Looking at it again, you're right. One of the things I'm learning from this exercise is that I'm calling too frequently and for too many chips with draws. Even draws to the nuts. That's my...
