Re: huh?

Does that mean that you can get a new bonus account at Empire and play with the same people you have been playing with all along at Party? If the answer is yes, I can't think of a reason NOT to do...

Re: What Bonus Next, and a big Thank You for the Help

When you guys say Intertops and Empire are the same games as Party, are they literally the SAME games? Can you join the exact same game from Party or Empire such that you might be playing with 5...

What Bonus Next, and a big Thank You for the Help

Well, I have now been on Party and Paradise for a few weeks, and I gotta say, this is great. It is both fun and profitable. Hard to see why anyone would play B&M anymore. Thanks for everyone's...

Re: Party Poker Bonus Codes (apologize if repeat)

Homer, as a fellow Simpsons fan and frequent reader of your posts, you seem like a good guy, so I will trust what you say. I guess I am a little unclear on how the bonus system works though. Why...

Steal-Raising Problems

The steal-raise seems to be costing me a lot more money than it is making me, and I think it's because I don't know when to give it up. Typical scenario is to raise from late middle, late or the...

Party Poker Bonus Codes (apologize if repeat)

Neteller is finally ready for me to send money to Party Poker. Are the previously posted bonus codes still valid? I am most interested in 100BONUS as previously suggested in mid-June. Any help you...

Re: Setting up account with neteller, preferably with CC?

Thanks for all the help. One more question - Neteller seems to require your social sec. number due to the US Patriot Act. Is that something I should be comfortable giving to them? Do I have any...

Just one question, in case too many to tackle in last post

What set up method do you recommend if the priorities are (a) minimization of expense to start playing online and (b) being able to start playing right away?

Thanks,
Sargon

Re: Setting up account with neteller, preferably with CC?

Thanks for all replies thus far.

Follow-up questions:
1. The checking account method sounds like a pain. A new account just for gambling? Two weeks to wait? Are there any fees associated with...

Setting up account with neteller, preferably with CC?

I have read quite a few old posts, but it is still unclear to me whether:
a) I would even be able to set up a Neteller account with a credit card and
b) Whether I would be charged outrageous cash...

Re: Beating the Rake at 5/10 B&M? - Harrah\'s in Chicago?

Robk,

Thanks for your response. I too am in Chicago - under your analysis, do you consider the 5/10 at Harrah's in East Chicago, IN generally beatable, or no?

Thanks,
Sargon

Beating the Rake at 5/10 B&M?

How good do you have to be to have a positive expectation at 5/10 B&M? My impression from various posts I have read is that it is tough to beat a rake of 10% to a $5 max at anything less than 10-20....

If you are only in it for the money, is it worth it?

Let's assume, hypothetically, that one wants to play poker solely for the purpose of making money, and that one is unwilling to play online. Unless you are already at least a "very good" player, I...

Abdul Jalib\'s Theory of Sucking Out

Abdul's formulae and tables, both for betting and chasing, seem like they would be a very useful way to get a feel for odds in hold'em. What is the general consensus on these tables?

Thanks,...

Re: Suggested Books

Any concern that Jones' and/or Kreiger's books are less "accurate" than S&M? I agree with you that it could be useful to read different approaches to get the "light" to go on. I just want to make...

Continuing the What Book Next? Theme

I have read HE and HEFAPs, but no others so far. Assuming that I will play in $5-10 games and no lower, do you recommend (a) TOP, (b) Lee Jones' book or (c) another choice next? Sorry for the...

Thanks for your thoughts. Based on the large amount of past posts advocating the program and my own experience with the demo, I decided to get it.

Thanks. However, I have some reservations about on-line play, specifically:

1. Potential Collusion
2. Presumably people have any number of computer programs open at the same time to help them...

Thanks for the response and the welcome. I was seriously considering taking your advice, but then I read the long RGP review of that program and AceSpade. It sounds like the advice in both programs...

I am seriously considering purchasing this due to all the rave reviews, but the RGP dissection seemed to indicate that the advice was questionable. Since that is really what I want, I wonder if it's...
