Re: AKs, give me a line

I'd usually go for a check-raise here. It is highly likely that worse hand than yours will try to take a stab at it, and at the same time you might be able to get some money from the BB as well if he...

Re: Late night poker and sleep

Yeah, sometimes. Usually for me it's when I've played bigger pots than usual or just played badly. When I play well, it's easy to sleep, when I'm not... uhh.

Re: why do i always lose to donkeys?

I see myself as a fairly good player and a while ago I was doing the exact same thing against donkeys. I was too eager to get their money before someone else did. My biggest flaw was to call their...

Game improving or making money?

Status: For those who didn't read my first thread in the Psychology forum, I play poker professionally and do it by multitabling mainly 1/2 NL tables.

Lately I've been finding myself in a...

b) Music on, sing along.
c) Take a beer or two when you feel disoriented.

And just for the record: I'm not kidding.

Re: Ok guys. Admit it. Poker is NOT cool.

Random people:

To 18-30 year old people I say that I play poker professionally.
To 30-45 men I say I play poker professionally.
To 30-45 women I say that I'm doing "a sort of investing, I'm...

Re: $2/$5 TPTK Standard Line ?

I would've either folded or went all-in on the turn. Calling is just simply a bad move on the turn. Most likely I would've moved all-in @ turn.

5/10: Bottom pair + flush draw

24hpoker's 5/10 four-handed. I'm chasing a fish to a bigger table, the first time ever playing 5/10. The two other seem to be tight guys and are pretty well aware of what they're doing. The fish is...

Re: Poker now, education... later

ceskylev,

Like I said in the original post - I am not dropping out of school. I've graduated from high school and decided to take (at least) a one-year off from studying trying to make a living...

Re: Poker now, education... later

[ QUOTE ]
Why not get an education that will give you a fall back option if poker doesn't work out? It isn't like you can't play while getting an education.

I lack motivation to...

Re: Poker now, education... later

[ QUOTE ]
That pattern is MUCH worse outside the US. The American educational system makes it quite easy to go back to university. We have immeasurably more night schools than most countries, and...

Re: Poker now, education... later

Thanks, nice getting something from that point of view as well.

I've been doing that "getting published" thing for about four years now and I enjoy it, so naturally I'm going to continue doing it....

Re: Poker now, education... later

Well, I tried to move up limit to 2/4 NL (played three tables 2/4 NL, one 1/2 NL) and got crushed - meaning that I lost a little over $5000 in four days. That's pretty big when you try to move up...

My status: single, still living at home (so no expenses), 21 year-old guy still enjoying his honeymoon with the game

Couple of months ago I found myself in a surprising situation. I have been...
