I'm thinking the only way he has you beat is that he slowplayed his 2's or 5's. Otherwise you will have him beat. 66 would be a sloppy flop call....

I think you should raise him on the flop because you probably have the best hand.

The hands that he could have (that have you beat) are 44 A4 K4 (loose preflop call) or AJ (maybe AQ, but he would...

I definitly think you should bet the flop. Why check raise for an extra SB? If you want to check raise do it on the turn (if no scary card comes).

In my opinion, you're making two mistakes.

first, you call preflop from early position with a mediocre hand.

second, on the flop you're getting 5-1 on the pot. You only have a gutshot straight...
