Re: How bad did i play AA?

Bet the flop, and if raised, I would proabably feel even better about it cause most players feel like they need to wait until the turn to raise.

Your hand is way to big to check on the turn. ...

Re: checking a full house on the river

Diplomat pretty much summed up my thinking on this hand. I had seen him slowplay most all of his big hands all night, and he was steaming badly. I thought there was a good chance he was on a flush...

checking a full house on the river

20-40 at Hawwian Gardens. Solid player open raises from early position. Two middle position callers, over aggresive player calls on the button. I call in SB with black 5s.

results and thoughts

I agree I totally blew it on the flop, and that was pretty much the point of my post. I had been running terrible, and was perhaps in the mind set that, "somebody has to have a queen."

Masons...

Re: Results

I think you really need to be at the table to be able to say if your play was correct. I take it there was some feel to the hand and you got a sense that he wasnt all that strong. Obviously, since...

Hi Sitting Bull,

This was an excellent point. I was playing 30-60 a couple of years ago at the Taj with a player nammed Griff who is still the most solid player in that whole room. We played...

Re: Going to war w/ a piece of cheese

Nicely played, Im sure your hand was good. I think the key to the hand was the action on the flop. I highly doubt either of your oppenents would play a set this fast from UTG or UTG+1 with all of...

thoughts, and supose the river gets bet?

I think one is too close for anyone to really be able to say what is correct. I would check in most cases. Nobody has a king. Although its possible someone may have checked a weak king on the...

I hate the river play...

Obviously, you arnt folding this hand for one chip thats awful advice, and I dont think raising here will acomplish a whole lot.

Looking back at the hand, it seems as though he has a heart or a...

article by John Vorhaus, is this guy kidding me?

I was just fooling around on poker pages when I came across this latest article. this was the worst, most off target poker advice I have ever heard any respected writer give to his readers. He...

Re: Bellagio 15-30: Undercards with a gutshot in a blind defense

I would like to know what your action would be if a duece fell on the river. Do you check and call or do you bet out hoping to fold a small pair? I agree when the queen falls your only play is...

Re: getting beat up

I like your check. This pot has become quite big and you are playing three handed. Any decent player is to call you down here. I think you probably had a better shot at getting him off the hand if...

huh?

Betting to get him to fold middle pair, why? The seven came on the river, and Vehn was raised on the flop. This does not make sense. If somehow his oppenent does hold a seven, he certainly isnt...

im not convinced about the river play.......

I see the arguments for 3 betting the turn here. However, Im surprised so few people agree with me that a call on the river is best. I understand that I am going to have the best hand here 90% of...

Re: 20-40 AK vs. Tricky EP Limper

I would bet, and I dont think its close. However, I would have raised the turn without thinking twice. Its an oppertunity to likely get the BB out, and you are going to have the best hand here a...

results, and I disagree about the river play

I can see Mikes argument for 3 betting the turn. I know the SB has a 10, and its almost impossible for the player in middle position to have two pair with that board. Its possible he could have had...

Re: 4-bet 2+2\'er with AQo

I think the 4 bet is fine because you know the 3 bettor will try try isolate many more hands because of the stradle. your hand is too strong to give up and capping is a far better play then calling....

interesting 30-60 hand

I cant believe everyone wants to see the flop here. First you are hoping to hit one of the remaining 3 aces, and then, if you are lucky enough to do that, you have to continue somewhat out of...

Re: Single Suited Flop with a Fourth on the Turn

After I got home and thought about this a little, I started thinking this might be a good spot for a turn raise. Depending on what kind of player he is, that is if he is able to lay down a hand, I...
