Re: can\'t decide if this is an obvious call or an obvious fold

OK, here's what happened. I thought for a few seconds and folded. I decided that I wanted to take the sure thing. Folding maintained my lead and guaranteed that one player was going to be out, or...

Call. And I think you should put MP on a broader range besides.

Don't you think that a limp-reraise is usually a sign of a pretty strong hand? And in this case he has no...

Re: can\'t decide if this is an obvious call or an obvious fold

I actually thought 1200 was a pretty good amount. It was 4X the BB, so it had a chance to take the pot down right there, but it still left me with a good sized stack if I had to fold.

can\'t decide if this is an obvious call or an obvious fold

Final table of a 2-table SNG 10+1, top 4 paid. I am the big stack, and have been stealing a lot of blinds lately.

Re: fold KK? HELP!

[ QUOTE ]
Is there a reason for why you bet $10 on the turn instead of pushing?

Just a pot sized bet. Wasn't really paying attention to my stack. I don't think it would have...

fold KK? HELP!

I am really torn about whether I played this hand correctly or not. Please give me some help.

It was a 25 NL table at Pokerroom, so BB was .25. No reads on any players, since I had only been...

When will Harrington\'s Volume II be out?

Anyone know? I just finished the first one and found it quite good, but when I read the last page and saw the stuff that will be in Volume II, I feel like I am only half-educated -- if that...

Re: Playing two pair on a draw heavy board

Looks good to me. I don't think there's any advantage in waiting till the river to raise when you can raise the turn. Your raise might just look like trip 5s, so someone who hits a flush is still...

Re: my own little hand quiz

I know that meep, but I couldn't seem to find a way to edit the poll. That's why I added in the correction that you obviously didn't read.

my own little hand quiz

You are playing 1/2. The player on your left doesn't seem to have a check or fold button. Pokertracker says that he bets or calls when the action comes to him about 80 pct of the time.

In the BB,...

That was a lot of fun. Are there any more of those online tests?

Re: tied to a big pot, did I count my outs right?

droolie, I like your idea about raising the flop. I certainly would have had a better idea of where i stood after that, and I might have gotten to see the river for free.

tied to a big pot, did I count my outs right?

I 3-bet with AQo because the PF raiser was a loose cannon and the caller was also very loose. I wanted to ge the pot 3 way with just those two. It ended up getting capped preflop, which sort of tied...

Re: another wait till turn raise

I disagree with the notion that they wouldn't call the turn raise. If I can get them already having put in one bet on the turn, most of them will throw in one more because they are all loose.

The...

Let me put it this way. In the 1000 free hands I played before I had tdo pay the $55 registration, I made $75.

And that was at .25/.50

Jimmy, you are right. I hate no fold 'em. I much prefer games in which the only people who call my bets are those with better hands than mine.

As a matter fact, if I sit down at an online table...

adjusting to life after SSH

I just read SSH about 3 weeks ago and am now starting to read it again, because I think somewhere some of the concepts may have been lost on me. After winning for about 12,000 hands (since I got PT),...

Well, since the debate has been pretty much exhausted about these hands, I'll go ahead and reveal the results.

Re: A classic wait-till-the-turn raise, I think

Just read through SSH again, and I refer all doubters to page 162. There is a hand in there almost identical to mine in the section "Protecting your hand."

In Miller's example, for those of you...
