Re: Hand from $500 satellite to US Poker Open

So the fact that it’s a satellite and villain can fold and still have a decent stack at that stage in the tourney isn’t enough to offset the good pot odds? Is it too early in the tourney for this...

Re: Great Laydown?

I actually considered that, but he was in the tank for 5 minutes, he HAD to have known he caught 2 pair.

It's situations like these that make me start questioning things. Here I am thinking I'm...

Re: Great Laydown?

HAHA! That's why I was thinking. I've never seen him play, but he said he tried to make it look like he wasn't overly keen on his hand while his opponent was in the tank. I bet the dope oversold it...

Re: Bad beat or a piss poor play?

Thanks Soss. That was my thinking....I figured playing heads up there was no chance of losing with that str8 (ok, I guess a very slight chance) and didn't mind giving him a cheap turn card, hoping it...

Bad beat or a piss poor play?

$35 single table satellite, heads up.

Since we went heads up, my opponent had been raising with almost anything, but I hadn't been getting any cards to call with...literally 34,27,83, etc. I had...

Re: Kerry on Iraq

Agreed. Kerry is a horrendous candidate. As a W supporter, I'm glad he's the dem's choice, as any halfway decent candidate would have already buried W in the polls by now.

If W comes up lame...

Live Games Vs. Tourneys

As a beginner, after doing tons of reading up on Hold 'Em, I've played a few live games, but quickly moved to playing SnG's and MTT's exclusively (have had decent results for a newbie). However, I'm...

Bad place to go all-in

I was in a MTT with 180 people this weekend. $50 buy in/+rebuys & add-ons.

Didn't get any good starting hands at all. In the 3rd round (last round before add-on period), I flopped a boat and...

Re: Trop in AC $50 rebuy Tourney

The Taj tourney's buy-in is a bit too high for me, but I'll probably head over there to watch and learn.

One thing I don't get is how your...

Trop in AC $50 rebuy Tourney

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to hold'em poker, and so far at this stage I've done more studying than playing (have read all the sklansky books a few times over, and have been reading posts on here...
