Re: passive overpair
Yeh looking back I agree the turn should be bet. I've been put off by running poorly and seeing trips here all the time.

passive overpair
3/6 3-handed against decent opponents, one(SB) who's slightly tilty and laggy.
Button raises, SB cold calls, I 3-bet QQ out of the BB. Both call.
Flop comes 886
SB checks, I bet, both call.

Re: 67o HU. (prolly simplish, but indulge me)
Have you been raising alot of a-high flops? If you have he'll probably figure you're bluffing and may be 3-betting you w just two overs or something. If not, you're probably beat and can fold the...

Re: craziest game ever

Suited connectors are terrible in this spot. You are investing way too much preflop. It kills your implied odds.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed, same goes to low pairs.

Royal holdem starting hands
I'm generally playing AA-QQ, AK,and KQs. Is that good, or too tight/loose?
Also, I'm only continuing on the flop with 2 pair, a set, or a royal flush draw. Good?

Re: Played too hard?
I like a river bet especially w/ the button still to act so if he's a beat he's not saving anything and he gets to charge QQ-JJ which seem pretty likely here for button.
edit: so I just remembered...

Re: vague theoretical question, kinda interesting
Sometimes it can be right to check behind because it's the higher EV move, but I'm asking how often, if ever, do you check behind for metagame reasons, so that when you check behind with weak hands...

vague theoretical question, kinda interesting
this question is probably more relevant for 4-handed or less, but can be applicable for 5 and 6 handed with observant opponents.
in a heads up situation where you put in the last bet preflop in...

Re: blind defense--scary river
I bet the river. He's more likely to have a K or a 6 or 55-88. If you check he checks behind, but he'll bet an ace or a good king so you don't save money either way, but by betting you get value...

Re: 88 and AQ, tough spots

But as I think about the hand more, you should probably be raising on the flop (and maybe even 3-betting preflop). If I do have unimproved overs on the flop you want me folding on the...

Are the low limit HU games on UB beatable?
The ub 3/6 hu game rakes .25/$10 and caps at .50. I figure this averages out to something like each player paying 3BB/100 in rake. Sound about right? If so, is anyone really beatable for that...

Re: Good hand, played poorly?
I like c/r-capping the flop a bit more than bet-3betting, but it would probably get capped either way. Just calling the flop sucks, UTG raised then capped p/f, he obviously got a mouthful of this...

Re: Just calling with flush - bad play?
I play it waay different.
First off, I fold pf first time around, particularly w/ the 1-3 blind structure. I suppose you gotta call once the bb raises, although it's close cause your hand really...

88 and AQ, tough spots
both at 3/6 6-max on ub, no one playing particularly wild or anything, no pt up:
First hand: MP raises, button cold calls, I call in sb with 88. bb calls too.
flop: 5 5 2 rainbow
checked to...

Re: Mildly common marginal situation

To me it looked like either a weak K, a weak Q, or a straight draw. I raised and bet the whole way as the board blanked off. Sounds like that's standard?
