Re: AKs played wrong?
::grunch::
Turn c/r is good. I'll cap the turn and lead the river. If he can raise the river that show of aggression, I'll just call the raise. Just don't think that he's beating us with any...

Re: Some fish with KT sooted wins a huge pot...
Preflop: Raise when it's first to you. After SB raises and UTG+3 limp-reraises, I don't have a problem calling, or even capping. You've got a hand that plays well multiway.
Flop: Getting 13:1...

Too aggressive with overpair?
Is three-betting the flop correct? I was trying to get it heads up or at least push out Button to get into position, but I could be convinced of a better line. Then what do you do on the turn? ...

Re: Laydown or not?
Hand 1 - I wouldn't cap the turn. Bet-3bet lines often mean they can beat TPTK. If they can't, I don't want to discourage them into betting into me. Rest looks fine.
Hand 2 - I'd probably play...

Re: Like my line?
Easy call. You'll see a seven nine times for every time you see a king.

Re: WLLH Good or Bad???
I'd recommend WLLH for a player just starting to learn to play the game. After they get the hang of things, then it's time to bring them into the SSH fold.
I once characterized the difference...

Re: River play?
A lone five is a strange card to see in a UTG+1 hand. A read would make this hand a lot easier.
Anyway, I'd probably keep raising and curse my luck when he turns over the case five.

Re: AK vs agg EP playalong
It's not a raise for value if the only person getting any value from it is SB. Equity-wise, we need to end up with the winning hand 33% of the time here. Like I said before, I don't think that's...

Re: AK vs agg EP playalong
Call me a wuss, but I've seen enough to get me to slow down. I'm calling here. I hope SB's overplaying QQ or AJ (in which case I want him to continue betting at me), or we're chopping with AK (in...

Re: Did I play this flush draw to weakly?
Check the flop to begin with. Raise UTG's bet if MP calls, call the bet if MP folds.
Don't forget, we're a little better than 35% to win the hand here. We've got the nut flush draw, one over,...

Re: AK too crazy?
How are we trapped with the hand? I've got no problem folding if we don't hit our hand by the river. If villain 3-bets us, we can call and reevaluate the turn. It shouldn't be hard to get away...

Re: AK too crazy?
I play it the same - not really saying whether it's right or not.
I'm raising the flop with the intention of clearing out the riffraff behind me and buying a free card on the turn. I've got a...

Re: To raise or not to raise?
Let's compare arguments, shall we?
[ QUOTE ]
I say raise almost always(x>90%) to build the pot, chase out chasers who call and end up on the losing end most of the time, to earn a free card on...

Re: A pair of Eeegahs on the button
Fold the flop.
Raise the river, call a three-bet. My best guess is that UTG+1 has a weakly played JJ or TT, and UTG is allergic to money.
Watch out for snakes.

55 in the BB
Here's a hand I found while looking over my weekend's play that seemed interesting. What's your move on the flop, and what's your plan for the rest of the hand?
SB seems to be a decent player,...

Re: Another wait till the turn hand
I'm a chronic wait-for-turn kind of guy, but even I'm raising the flop here. Laying 13:2 is enough to give gutshots and Ax bad odds. Plus there are practically no clean cards to come on the turn to...
