Re: lo8 simple question
I would check and call. You are only playing for half the pot. If you had the best high hand on the flop it is likely that you still do.

Re: lo8 simple question
I still raise on the flop. I want to charge the maximum for the low draws to make their hand.

Re: lo8 simple question
Raising to isolate the better is your best option. You have top two pair and are likely ahead for high unlesss you are up against a set. You must charge the low hands the maximum to draw. If the big...

Re: A23xs, how does this look?
Smooth calling preflop is fine.
Raising on the flop is bad. You will drive out the weaker lows that you want calling. You do not care about charging high draws as you do not have a hand that will...

Re: Wraparound draw LO8 .5/1
I would fold preflop. The 9 devalues your hand. If the 9 was a Q your hand might be worth a call. Being suited Jack-high does not add enough value to turn this hand into a call.
On the flop you...

Re: LO8 Give me a better line
I think the call preflop is fine if the game is generally loose and passive. You want a cheap flop with a few callers.
I think I would jam it on the flop. You have the nut high. Someone will have...

Re: Heavy action on river - fold? 3/6 LO8
There are not many river cards that leave you with the nut high. By my count only the red As, 2s, Qs and Ks. So that is eight outs. Of course you may win the high half without the nuts.
It is...

Re: 15/30 LO8 turn decision
I think this is a fold.
Your high is weak (pair of Aces with a nine kicker). The only low card you will really like is a five and that probably will only get you half the pot. You could easily...

Re: Preflop Suggestions
Keep in mind that the object of split pot games is to scoop the pot. So look for two-way potential in any starting hand.
Situation 1: You are dealt AA7Q ss in MP with one limper.
Fold, this hand...

Re: O/8 Playing for High/Bet the flop?
Cappalletti's idea of betting high hands when you get a high flop works better when the high flop does not contain an Ace. The Ace will hit all the low hands, giving them at least a pair and possibly...

Re: Chase the low draw?
I think of it this way:
The pot has 16.5 BB and you win half or 8.25BB. You put in .5 BB on the flop, 1 BB on the turn, and 2 BB on the river for a total of 3.5 BB. So in your half of the pot your...

Re: Newb Question
At $10-20 and lower, they almost all pay you off. Most of the players at these limits draw to non-nut hands and expect that you play like them.

Re: low limit o8 post flop folds
It is hard to give general answers. But I'll try.
Things are often clear when two or three high cards flop. Players who are betting or raising have strong high hands or strong high draws. If you...

Re: Equity/Counting Outs in LO8.
It is not clear whether you are asking about play on the flop or play on the turn.
If there is no low possible yet, your opponents likely have strong high hands to be betting and raising. In...
