Re: KK vs a calling station
I was just going to post something similar, that is: there are some people who are simply the Kiss of Death if they're in the pot. They have A when I have KK but they are physically incapable of...

Is this Common?
So far, my only experience with Poker has been online at PS where the amount of the pot is always readily available.
This weekend I went to Foxwoods and played the $2/4 for a few hours and I did...

Re: General Philosophy
This has certainly been interesting and education and my way of playing is likely costing me some fair portion of a bet every 100 hands.
I’m going to make an effort to tighten up for the next few...

Re: General Philosophy
Thanks for the kind words. I do play tournaments and though I'm on a dry spell lately I have a winning record at the Sit&Goes and finished third in a 500+ player PS Limit tourney.

Re: General Philosophy
In the interest of space I didn't write out that I only do this when it’s HU or maybe only 2 other people; it should have been painfully obvious, no?
I pay close attention to hands when I'm not...

General Philosophy
I have only a few posts here because in my first pass through I was severely flamed for "Spewing Chips"
My overall philosophy is that poker is a game of people, information and cards and in that...

Re: Is there a single hand I\'m ahead of here?
1. Why didn't you cap PF? If you don't cap with AQs, what hands do you cap? There's only four better starting hands so you might as well turn your cards face up at that point.
2. At first I...

Re: NL Preflop Question
I've read the replies and I don't see the value in computing this problem out to a decimal place, certainly not in real time. I know I can't do it.
I do a rough guesstimate, and act accordingly:...

Re: Line on QQ play
You didn't reraise PF because of Aceaphobia, so when the A hits the flop why are you probing?

Re: NL Preflop Question
Fold.
Being offered an even money proposition where I'm even money only 2/6 possible hands: TT, JJ; otherwise I'm dominated by AK, QQ or KK gives me 3 outs, and completely toasted by AA (in a pure...

Re: A run of cards and your adjustments...
Villain is complaining that he folded JJ last hand and would have made a str8 to win pot, so let's put him on semi-Tilt for missing a big opportunity with a decent hand.
While he might want to...

Re: Fold Turned Trips?
Look at it this way: What do you suppose Villain has you on?
You called PF, didn't raise the second button and gutshot on the Flop, you really think he has you on trip K, but you're giving him...

Re: Facing a turn reraise with TPTK
Chief,
I am new here but I'm a fast study and I've pretty much "groked" the overall tone of the fairly reasonable advise here and disagree with most of it wholeheartedly. I've posted my reasons...

Re: Facing a turn reraise with TPTK
Well, let's see, he coldcalled 2 bets PF, checked/called the flop then bet and raised on the turn so it's a virtual certainty that he made the hand he's representing, because we all know that a poker...

Re: KK HU OOP, call down or fold?
In that case, you can check/call down the river, but there's no way I'd drop KK.
I already see that I'm in a big minority here, but as far as I'm concerned, the information I get from the raise...

Re: KK HU OOP, call down or fold?
Well, my real name is Frank and when I was being introduced to some new people, my friend said, "This is Frank, watch out for him, he's very Zappy" so I made it my screen name.
As a guitar...

Re: Facing a turn reraise with TPTK
You're folding TPTK here?
My thoughts, and I could be wrong, since you have TPTK what better time to wrestle (gain information about your opponent is the more polite way of saying it)? If you...
