Re: roll call! whos a fish?

It is all relative.

At 30-60, I'm almost certainly a fish. At 3-6, I'm definitely a shark. There is a smooth transition between the two somewhere in between.

\"RESULTS\"

The river brought the 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif.

The turn check did prompt my opponent to bet into me on the river, and to call my subsequent raise. He shows 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif...

Re: Wasted bet on the river?

Maurile,

Apart from the river, I like how you played the hand.

At the river, I look at from a purely mathematical standpoint: will both my opponents fold more than 1/15th of the time?

If...

"Hi Efferbody!" (I have to keep the Simpson's theme going ...)

I have to admit ... I like it when players fail to extract the full pound of flesh when they actually wake up with hands ...

Fancy Play Syndrome Here?

Online low stakes game.

Prime opponent is unknown ... it is literally his third hand at the table. I have never played with him before, and have no notes on him.

Prior to this, the game has...

"Hi efferbody!"

This hand amused me a little at the table tonight. Then when I went and checked the hand history to see what he had, I had to laugh out loud. Figured I'd post it for your light...

Just a shameless plug to get this back near the top of the page, so I can get a couple more responses before posting the results.

Re: Misplayed on every street?

Seeing as I'm the only guy advocating limp reraising 10% of the time with this hand ... I have to say, that's the first time I've been called a LAG!

It is not a play for every game, and I do rely...

Re: Misplayed on every street?

Well ...

Preflop looks fine to me. I probably limp here 80% of the time, raise 10% of the time, and limp reraise 10% of the time. The percentages shift depending on the game type, but that's my...

Pressing my luck? Too fancy with AQo?

"Hi efferbody!"

Here's the hand.

I'm in the big blind with A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif. One loose limper UTG+2, and the cutoff raises. I have the cutoff pegged...

Re: Honestly - At what point can I bet this hand

Sarge,

To me, two late limpers does not imply any great strength, so I fully anticipate that my TT is the best hand. I'm raising to:
1) Punish those with lesser hands.
2) Take control of the...

The executive summary ... raise limpers from cutoff with ATs, three bet by UTG+1. Flop top pair, turn trips, river blank, call like scared little girl all the way.

In the sobering light of day, I...

Re: Honestly - At what point can I bet this hand

Sarge,

I take a much more aggressive line with this hand.

I raise preflop and lead at the flop. If raised, I will call, look at the turn, and likely fold if unimproved against a straightforward...

Re: ATs in the Cutoff

I actually do limp reraise AKs around 25% of the time ... although I would never make that play in this particular game.

Re: Accidental UTG Raise Pre-flop...

Nice save.

I would not have shown my hand, though. If your opponents are that easily scared off, I would want to keep my stealing options open. All you do by showing is antagonize the fish. (Don't...

Re: pocket 10\'s- wasn\'t sure of my play on ANY street!

paulie,

A quick followup.

While you will certainly not go broke at $3/$6 by assuming that your opponents play/think as you do, you are likely going to miss out on bets.

Yes, QJo is a...

Re: Good board for c/r with set?

A decent enough point.

In some situations, though, it still might be advantageous to thin the field. 90% of a slightly smaller pot might amount to more money in the long run than 70% of a larger...
