Re: 8/16 preflop against two maniacs
5-bet cap. I can call to close the action or 4 bet- and it gets insta-capped and I play AT oop. Not saying your wrong, but do you think 5-bet cap changes anything?
P.S. shoulda included this...

8/16 preflop against two maniacs
What was a bad 8 game has made a sudden right turn when a noticeably drunk(normally decent player) sit w/ 1k proclaiming that he wants to gamble at the same time a known maniac sits down to his left....

Re: 2 questions
[ QUOTE ]
Is Canterbury a bet and 3 raises? If that is the case here I would 3 bet the flop. The preflop play is fine... possibly a 3 bet on some occasions... sometimes a fold. You probably are...

Re: 88 Out of Position
Sounds very simply like a fish who's praying you have AK. Is he right? His line still sucks, but thats why he is a fish, no?

Re: AKs preflop strad?
Similar most questions in poker it depends. More info is needed. What limit? Read on the player? His perception of you? etc.

Re: River spot
Im thinking a flop or turn raise helps hand play out smoother. Any reasons not to raise?

Re: Standard?
I am going to go against the grain and disagree. I think that unless you have knowledge that these posters are tight , you should go ahead and fold. Think, you have to fold out people who are in late...

Re: river
[ QUOTE ]
I like a check/call here. If he has AK or AQ he isn't going to pay off our river bet anyways so the check behind doesn't cost us. It may induce him to bet a smaller pocket pair for value...

Re: 35s in BB
U called 2 sbs to make 12bbs. In my example you would call 1 sb to make 14bbs, and I doubt sb tries to cr entire "trapped field." By not betting you let villain turn an easy call into a borderline...

Re: 35s in BB
I think getting 14 to 1 is plenty to make this a value bet. Not to mention the ridiculous implied odds. My intention is to make sure there is even more money put in on the flop. I.e If it gets...

Re: 35s in BB
Betting flop will fold noone that an expected bet from late position wont fold. Also I would expect that many will call even if it is raised and even if people get closed out you will gain as much if...

Re: 35s in BB
I would bet the flop, chances are sb is trying to thin the field or had already given up on the hand, I think building the pot in this spot would be good, you can trap many opponents and if sb raises...

Re: Do you love me?
Thats why I thought this was interesting, because villain's description can be misleading, many people think that these types cant be bluffed.

Is this a value bet or do you think he would fold a pair to your turn raise when he whiffs his two pair draw on river?

Re: 3/6.. top two pair in big blind.
You need to cap this flop. Your hand is good but very vulnerable w/ this draw heavy board. Get the money in while your hand is good. The draws cant pay you off when they miss river, collect that...

Why would we bet this river? If villain has any kind of made hand, since the pot is decent, he's calling. If he folds, he almost certainly has a worse hand. Unless villain is really odd,...

I didnt cap, I 4 bet (5-bet cap) for 2 reasons.
