Re: Played intelligently or moronic? Still learning.

If your read is that he's passive, and yet he's betting and raising here, why push back at him? You get called when you're beat (usually really, really beat) or he folds when you're ahead (usually...

Re: Which type of player will do better in the average $100 NL game

[ QUOTE ]
It depends on the table. You should be able to switch between both styles as play dictates. If you just play one style all the time, people will catch on pretty quick if they have half a...

Re: Quick math question

Well, i threw it in SNG powertools with that calling range... Not sure if its accurate for ring game situations, but it gave your push as +.5% EV against that calling range. Pretty close to neutral.

Re: 100NL full: Overpair vs semi-shortstacked and loose-bad opponent...

Call, raise turn all-in. (Unless its an A, and he pushes ahead of you... then fold angrily) If he has AT, a 3-bet could scare him off. I don't think we can fold this against a loose-bad opponent, and...

Re: Throwing money after a bluff when should I stop or keep going?

If he's drawing to a flush, he isn't folding to a smaller than pot sized bet, and you really don't want to make one of those and get called on a later street. After he checks behind on the turn, I'd...

Re: open raising trash on the button

Button isn't so bad, but still, trash is trash. Anyone who calls has a better hand, and it can cost you to find out how much they like it. Minor spewing.

Stealing from SB with trash, I don't like...

Weak top pair against PFR, NL 100 6max

Not too many hands on villain, but he recently called a big river bet with ace high... soooo, probably, he's stupid?

Re: tough 55 hand

I rather like most of the line, outside of the weak turn bet. I fold this river as well, as the whole thing reeks of a higher set. I guess AK is a possibility too, but I really doubt AK would check...

Re: Live vs Online SSNL

I played one day at the borgata (built my stack up to about 800, which is the largest stack i've ever sat on. man, that was badass). Played a day at caesars, built up about a 500-600 stack. also...

Re: Big pot ...100NL

I've got you as about 16.5/8.9 after 150 or so hands. I've always seen you as a tight player. (much tighter than most people on there, at least) PT rates you a TA... sounds about right.

I started...

Re: Live vs Online SSNL

The 1-2 games in AC are grrrreat. I'd especially recommend the borgata (plus, its a very nice, new place, and the cocktail waitresses are not too hard on the eyes, to say the least)

Expect preflop...

Re: Trying to de-donk myself

I prefer a bet-3bet line on this hand (half pot, then push), as checkraising leads to a sticky situation when your checkraise is called, and the turn bricks (as in, any card other than a heart or 9)....

Re: Big pot ...100NL

bet more on flop.
bet more on turn.
shouldn't have to bet so much on river.

On a side note, I've seen you a lot recently at the NL100 6max on fulltilt. (mostly with a deep stack). respect.

Re: Red Kings facing big flop raise. What\'s my play?

Is this a live game?

Anyhow, If you are confident in your read of the SB (that he doesn't have a queen), I'd push here. $25 is a big raise from BB. If he had trip Q's, I'd think he'd want a little...

In your example, OOP, i'd check-fold it, hopefully check it down to showdown. If you were in position, check the turn and value bet the river if checked to.

I think this question is rather...

Re: So I\'ve been looking at my stats (short question)

One thing that stands out is raising/reraising AJ/AQ from any position.

I find that if i'm in the BB, facing a raise from any non-SB position, and i have AQ, i'm more likely to call as I will be...

Don't start her playing no limit, its very easy to lose a lot of money fast if you're inexperienced. Additionally, I don't see how playing a brainless push/fold strategy according to a chart is going...

Godzilla versus King Kong versus A Dead Fish

Fulltilt NL-100 6-max, 5 handed

"A Dead Fish" is pretty bad, but I don't think reads on him matter much in the hand

Re: Is it +EV to reraise an obvious cb with air?

Lets say the pot has 2x chips in it, villain bets x chips (your obvious c-bet at work). to raise the pot, you must call x and raise 4x more. Betting 5x chips to win 3x. so, you need to win the pot...

1) This is fine preflop play with all of the hands you listed, you could even raise more with them after that many limpers if you wanted to actually fold some of them out. (I would also make this...

poboy is right, it is all about knowing your opponent. If i'm against a player who is generally weak (especially weak-tight), I will often read his 1/2 pot continuation bet as just that, and be more...

Raise more from LP with speculative but not dominated hands. That way you'll appear looser and will get more calls all around.

Definitely. I will open-raise suited...
