Re: Full turn
[ QUOTE ]
If I'm ahead, he'll call a 4th bet/river. 2 more bets. If I'm behind I'll call a 5th bet/river. 3 more bets. Win 2 or lose 3. Doesn't that mean just call down?

Re: KQo with maniac on board
What about raising the river? It's arguable that the correct play from SB's point of view is to fold his flush if it comes 2 more back to him. If he knows hero is TAG, then his raise plus a 3-bet...

Re: AJo 15/30 hand
Even if I were closing the action, I'd have a hard time calling that. Since there's a high possibility of it getting 3-bet or even capped, I'd say it's an easy fold.

Re: Two hands for check-up
Hand 1: Either bet the turn or the river (or both). I think a lot of worse hands will call, ie. pocket pairs, or maybe even a pair of 5s.
Hand 2: I think it depends on how tricky you think MP is....

Re: Fairly Common Situation
If the villain is looser than you, and he's less aggressive, wouldn't a more aggressive line be better? It makes it easy to fold to resistance if he's somewhat passive. My standard line is to...

Re: KJs in the monkey house
The EV varies with the amount of bets going in, though. I do agree that being able to come in for 1-2 SB is much better than 4-5 SB, but if 4-5 SB is the only option, and it's +EV, then the OP should...

Re: KJs in the monkey house
[ QUOTE ]
I would say playing AK vs a blind steal is quite a bit different than the situation presented. If we were to lock this game down to 1 hand then the obvious play is to make it 4 bets. The...

Re: 30/60 88 confused
To all of you who are saying fold preflop, no, no, and no. For as long as I've been on the mid-high forums, it's always been standard to open-raise 77+ from UTG.

Although now that I think about it, there's really no effective difference between JJ and QQ in this spot

That's not true. QQ dominates AQ, but not AK. It also dominates...

Re: 20/40 live hands
Hand 1: Bet/call sounds good to me. I think bet/3-bet is better than check/call.
Hand 2: I like the turn play, but only if you're planning on not putting another bet into the pot. There are plenty...

Re: 15/30 AJ in SB, 3bet to isolate gone wrong
Unless MP2 is known to make ridiculous bluffs, I fold this some amount of the time.
Another note, with a PFR of 6, I don't see AQ as being unprobable and with a VPIP of 36, I don't see Q8 as...

You dont own 25% of this pot pre flop? The only player you are worrying about is the 16/6 that 3-bet, I feel like the other 2 players could be all over the place. 2 out of the 3...

I'd fold this and be sad about it.
Sorry to hijack, but what's the worst hand people would call in this situation? AKs? JJ? QQ?

Re: 15, Gurly tight, action check
Unknowns in the PP 15 play those hands, and do you think villain is capping the turn and raising the river with trips or a flush? If so, OP needs to make a note and take down a screenname.
I'd opt...

Re: Creating Odds f or yourself with draws
1) Wrong forum.
2) Pumping a draw in a -EV manner to make your calldown +EV is not +EV in the situation you described. That's like saying, in NL, you should always raise to (your stack size) - 1 BB,...

Re: 10/20 QQ
Having the Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif means that you have a higher likely hood of having 2 clean outs if you're behind. Also, it lessens the chance of a redraw if you spike a Q. Lastly, if a 3rd...
