The sock dispenser is a good idea, and could probably be done fairly easily. Something like those re-used plastic bag dispensers they sell in junk-for-the-house catalogs, only modified for socks.

Usually 24/7, but if I'm gonna be gone more than 24 hours I turn it off. (It's a laptop, so I also turn it off whenever I have to take it someplace, but that is rarely now)

The engine of the car is now off, but with the streetlight glare I can't tell if anyone's inside.
It's possible that it's just a different SUV, but they are beige, which is a less common color.
