Re: 10/20 hand reading exercise
Preflop: 2 broadways, most probably suited. KQ, AJ, AQ.
Flop: Top pair, good kicker. KQ, KJ, AK.
Turn: KQ, KJ, AQ.
River: KQ, AK.
Villain needs a Queen to call.

Re: QQ, all spade board, on the button
"So MP1 check raises your ass on the flop. Whoops. Sure would have been nice to clarify where I was preflop huh? "
How do you read MP1's hand differently if QQ reraised preflop? MP1 could call...

Re: Flop decision
I usually fold this preflop, but if I play it here I raise.
I fold the flop when it's one to me.

Re: results
Noob here. Just a couple questions.
Following up on DcifrThis' line:
"[EDIT]: i forgot to deal with the actual river bet decision. betting this river encourages a raise. what do you have that...

Re: Flop checkup
Sucks to be out of position with this marginal hand. Check and see what develops. I'd like to show this hand down for as little as possible, fold if it's two back to you.

Re: Stuck in the middle with AK
Given your reads, CO could easily have a small pair when he reraises you preflop; and SB could have anything, but probably some suited broadways most likely.
Post flop, your AK is marginal. Fold...

On a side note...
If you raise the river, and it's one bet back to you, do you call? What if it's two bets back to you, closing the action?

Re: River Action
If you raise, SB folds unless he has you beat. When the SB folds (and utg calls), you win the same amount as if you call and SB calls. Most of the time SB will call here if you also call, unless he...

Re: An old live hand
Your outs aren't discounted, the 8 of diamonds needs to be discounted. The BD straightdraw is an inside straight draw, so you probably need to discount that somewhat as well.
If he factors in that...

Re: An old live hand
Ok, I can see the correctness of the preflop call. I ran a few simulations on the odds calculator at cardplayer.
On to the flop:
On this flop, I see he has 4 outs: 1 for the BD straight, 1 for...

Re: An old live hand
Preflop, do you think the kicker is good? I am dubious as to it's value and assume I need to flop two pair (Ace and Eight) or a flush draw. I don't think you lose much by folding this preflop.

Tilting with a marginal hand.
Reads: UTG+1 LAG. MP1 is Tight/Passive.
I'd been at the table for about 50 hands, and was losing. Big slick missing, their flush draws hitting on the river, yada, yada, yada; so I was tilting....

What is a donk ?
I know it's short for donkey, but what is the definition of "Donk"?
How is a donk different from a fish?
How is a donk different from a maniac?

Re: 2/4 KK
I like the flop raise. I'm tempted to take the free card on the turn though. The 8 is a potential killer for us and the dude with Ax is staying with us no matter what.
As a wimp, I check behind...

How sweet it is...
This was about hand # 80 in the session. BB and Cutoff have been with me for about 50 hands. They had a line on my play and as yet I hadn't deviated from the TAG line.
The previous 15-20 hands...

Did I miss a bet or lose the minimum?
I have been at this table for about an hour. If the players are observant, then they know I'm tight and moderately aggressive; and that my preflop raises mean big cards or big pairs. Villain is a...

Re: Tight table questions
1. Yup, I was only playing one table.
2. Yup, I as playing super tight in EP/MP by dumping the offsuit broadways except for AK and AQ. With AJo, I'd open raise from MP1, limp behind an early...

Re: Tight table questions
You make it sound so easy. Would YOU lay down an unimproved AK against a LAG who either raises your flop bet or bets the flop when you check? Or a loose passive who calls your flop bet, then bets...
