Re: Paradise .50/1 Stud Hi
It is a great game and there are plenty of them going usually. There are a few extra tight games but most are either loose-passive or tight-passive.

up at 1/2 and 2/4, the antes are .25 and .50, respectivly, and the bring ins double that.
[/ QUOTE ]
At Paradise 2/4, the ante is .25 and the bring-in is a $1.

Re: Where do you guys make your money (if at all)?
1. Yes at levels up to 2/4. Break-even at 2/4 with only approx. 4K hands played.
2. My money doesn’t really come from types of hands but rather it comes from two ways. First, I once read that most...

Re: How loose should I play in this game?
Head over to Poker Stars - the ante is 5 cents.
Why don't you give .50/1.00 a shot? The games are too passive to need a 300 big bet bankroll at that level. And enough people respect raises that...

Re: PokerTracker for Stud
Paradise Poker is a great place to learn. The .50/1.00 game is no-ante and pretty soft with a sprinkling of players with a clue. You can learn to play solid hands without getting eaten up by the...

Re: Looking for 7 stud $2-$4 game
Poker Stars - usually only one or two games and sometimes it's too tight to make it worthwhile; the players tend to be better here than at Paradise
Paradise - generally several good (not too...

Well, props to Andy! But it's fair to say that there are more than a few people you can learn from, although Andy is a great resource.
It's important, though, to recognize that the more...

I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my points. This is a great post in that it does raise a lot of common issues. We play in similar games, so I appreciate trading thoughts with you.

Re: Some historical statistics
I like looking at my stats, too, but I have to be careful to only do so periodically or I'll start playing to my stats rather than making the right decision (as if I could recognize that, anyway) at...

Re: PS 2/4 flush draw/big pair no good
I'm starting to agree with Andy all the time. Not that he's not usually right but it could mean that soon I'll be giving up my wine for beer and hating on Roy West. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: PS 2/4 stud .25 ante small pair big kicker
This is a fold on 4th but I guess everybody else has said that. It's so important to get out while it's cheap and before the errors get compounded because of pot size.

I agree that betting yourself rather than calling is a better 4th street play. You were going to call anyway but leading out makes your hand look stronger, especially with a maniac at the table. Your...

Andy,
Do you fold to or call a raise (if he was drawing to, and hit, a straight)?
