Re: Did I get lucky on the turn?
Yes, but if you bet the flop you are more likely going to be able to put AK, AA, or KQ all in later in the hand. If you postpone betting until the turn you will not be able to bloat the pot enough...

Re: results
[ QUOTE ]
I feel like by giving so many cheap rivers, I just encourage people to call my turn bets with any pair.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to say I encourage overchecking the river, but there's...

Re: Did I get lucky on the turn?
Well, I guess really what I'm asking here is if you've shown a pattern of continuation betting when you raise preflop? I wonder if under "normal" circumstances (i.e. not a set over a set) a flop bet...

Re: Did I get lucky on the turn?
Why did you not lead the flop with KK? Is it because you would expect everyone to fold since probably no one is holding a K? If so, what are you trying to accomplish with the flop check? Do you...

Re: Bet the turn?
I'm not sure I understand the point of your flop check? Why don't you lead out and either take down a pot that is yours without risking an outdraw or define his hand early and play accordingly? If...

Re: hand vs. grandiose
Has he been checkraising you often when he calls your button raises Preflop? If this is a standard play for him then I would think you'd want to call his raise and see what he does on the turn. If...

Re: $600 party NL red aces weird spot
I would call here. You're probably ahead with your Aces and you also have a nice draw to the flush if you're behind. Although you could be facing a set or made flush here I think you could also...

Re: $10/20 betting rivers.....I feel like a wuss
In this situation I would check through. If your opponent was (incorrectly) drawing to a straight or flush he's not going to call a river bet. And I can't imagine many worse hands calling a bet on...

Re: Biggest NL and Limit games
Does anyone know the reason why many sites don't offer larger games? If Party spread a 25/50 NL people would surely play in it, and that just means more rake for them.

Re: value bet the river?
Does anyone else think that OP should be betting stronger on flop and turn. On flop with such an obvious draw you are giving pot odds that actually make it correct for opponents to call. The turn...

Re: AK all in preflop?
yes I understand raising all in with AK is a fine play in some circumstances that's why I was questioning a call with AK since my opponent is already showing a strong hand that may have AK beat and...

AK all in preflop?
Is it correct to call in a situation like this? 25NL Party 6 max (6 handed). I ($35ish) have AKo utg. Raise it to $3. CO reraises all in (about $16). I figure this is an easy fold because at...

Re: AQs live hand
I wouldn't hope for a check fold but if he's a tight player and (assumedly) knows you are a tight player too than it would almost certainly be -EV to call or raise his check raise here at least in my...

Re: AQs live hand
I don't think your pre flop call was terrible. I would have done the same. I would probably fold this on the flop though, as already mentioned if he's tight than the best you can hope for is a...

What\'s a blocking bet?
Can someone please explain to me what a blocking bet is and the concept behind it? I see this term being used a lot on these boards but I don't know what it means. Thanks.

Re: NL50 AK trips hand, awkward turn decision
Hm... this is a tough call. It would help if you had some sort of read on your opponent. Basicly I see him having two possible hands. He either has the other K and is now looking to protect his...

Re: JJ hand
Your pot sized bet on the flop is fine however I would probably fold to the reraise. And once he fires that bet on the turn this is an easy lay down in my opinion.

Re: Another expensive mistake.....
Chances that someone has a J are very slim and usually everyone will fold to your all in ($50 into a $2 pot) unless they have a J here. Obviously in this situation it worked out for you but I can't...

Re: Playing AK like a fish
I would have bet the turn but since you didn't I would def call the $7. Like you said... it's only $7 into a $62 pot.

Re: AKo Hand
Yeah you have to bet this, I don't think his play is out of the ordinary for Ace with mid kicker on party. If he reraises your turn bet I would consider folding but as it stands right now there is...
